ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Cowboys' first-round pick, Tyron Smith (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13978/tyron-smith) from USC, is still spending time after practice working. During practice, he's getting beat up by DeMarcus Ware (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/8426/demarcus-ware), holding his own against Anthony Spencer (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/10470/anthony-spencer), conferring with Kyle Kosier (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/3751/kyle-kosier) and getting a drink between periods.

The real work begins after practice for the right tackle.

Smith spends time getting his footwork set with offensive line coach Hudson Houck and Doug Free (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/10565/doug-free), the left tackle, that wants to see the rookie succeed. There's Ware telling him about how to place his hands on a speed rusher, because you get a lot of that when you play in the NFC East.

Love to read about this kid's work ethic. Also impressed with all the help that Smith is getting from Ware, Free, etc. They all want him very much to succeed cause a successful Smith means successful OL play which ensures protection for Romo and opening holes for our running game. Keep up the work and the attitude in TC and we could surprise some people.

I want this Cowboy team to play with a chip on their shoulder & never give up attitude.[

Yeah, most of his help just happens to be from the guys that will probably be career Cowboys, so its in their best interest for him to be great.

Good stuff.
