chris collingsworth;pretty impressed they got the cba done, when its this hot and early in the morning and 2 teams going at each other, something is going to happen.

chris, some people are less disciplined than others (refering to holland), ryan matthes same thing happened to him.

chris, i dont like the kickoff rule, think it takes away from the game on returns. Now, its more like a punt situation, occasional big play, to what I think we will see.

chris; sometimes its good to be the favorite like eagles are now reportedly top dog, and sometimes its not good to bethe favorite. I think its goingto be a dog fight like it always is, and if you dont win, they come looking for teh head coach.

chris; i think whole offensive line will be much improved, they were one of the slowest off line i ever saw, and now with some young offensive linemen like nagy, tyron, this helps them.

chris; seems like teams have forgotten about falcons being overlooked, and hard to get off of patriots, and every yr they get more draft picks and adding people, and they have brady.

chris;i will be out here today and tomorrow.

Everyone gushes over the Pats stockpiling picks. But they have not done much with the ones they have used, and if you keep saving them and not using them what is the point?

NOW if the idea was to amass enough to say get the first pick some year when they think there is a sure fire QB (Like Luck, maybe) then there is reason. Otherwise its all smoke and mirrors.

Patriots record since 2003:
14-2
14-2
10-6
12-4
16-0
11-5
10-6
14-2

They clearly have had the talent over the years to continue to stockpile picks and only use them when they feel there is a hole to be filled. Just because they have not used the picks to take the number one pick overall or to make a splashy pick does not mean it is smoke and mirrors. Draft picks are money in the bank. Just because you don't spend money doesn't mean you don't have it or it's worthless.

Sure they're successful if you look at wins and losses. Oh... well... nevermind...

Gotta be in the game before you can win it. I remember the days when we could count on being in the playoffs every year. I miss that, a lot.

Oh I agree :D Better to have the Patriots record than the Cowboys record the last six years.

I have just heard the "the Cowboys have so much talent" it seems every year. The Cowboys have had the talent to win a Super Bowl the last 5 years but so have about 12-15 other teams.

It was my main concern against hiring Wade Phillips years ago .. he had the reputation of good/great seasons without a finish. Just like Norv Turner in San Diego.

I live near Denver so I saw Wade up close as HC of the Broncos. I was embarrassed for them when he was their HC. I don't mean to disrespect because he's the nicest guy in so many ways and a VERY accomplished DC.

It was the latter that gave him any credibility when Jerry hired him and many of us as fans bent over backwards to believe that would be enough. He'll coach the D, Garrett the O, no real HC needed. Boy did we find out differently whether it was managing (or not) the TO situation or even allowing Garrett to be his best as OC. Then when even Wade as DC suffered because of HC Wade (my theory), there was no credible reason to keep the guy.

We won alot of games under him in 2007/8/9 and rationalized (like Wade) our underachievement until the bottom fell out completely.

In some ways we were better under Wade than Parcells, but that Wade era still carries embarrassment for me. He's just such a PR disaster even if he's truly more competent than he appears, which I still think he probably is.

Ironically, though this team is heavily criticized for not having quality leadership amongst the players, I probably credit THEM more for the success we had under Wade. In good times, HC Wade could fist pump and the front of the parade. But when adversity struck I think the players had to find a way out of it themselves. In retrospect I'm embarrassed that I tried to maintain belief in him as long as I did.

Though again, he's a good man. :)

Double digit wins every year and playoffs 5 out of 6 years on top of nearly becoming the first ever 17-0 team says to me they've got plenty of talent. Talent alone does not win every game, but it will put you in the hunt.
