OBSERVATION DECK:
Here's what I saw Thursday morning from the Cowboys' first outdoor practice of training camp at Valley Ranch against the San Diego Chargers:
• CB Orlando Scandrick had tight coverage most of the morning and had a nice pass breakup over the middle against Chargers WR Malcom Floyd.
• Backup QB Jon Kitna returned to practice. One of his passes sailed high and off one of TE John Phillips' hands. The ball was deflected a second time before a Charger intercepted the pass in 7-on-7 drills.
