Dallas Cowboys training camp: LB Sean Lee making progress
by Clarence Hill

Second year linebacker Sean Lee is getting more and more comfortable in the starting lineup next to Bradie James. He has gotten additional reps and the opportunity to play with the starters because veteran Keith Brooking has been sidelined since the first week of camp with a hamstring injury.

At this point, it doesn’t look like Lee is going to let go of the job any time soon even when Brooking returns.

The Cowboys have been grooming him for the position since 2010, and it seems he is ready.

However, Brooking will remain part of the Cowboys plans in 2011. Even though is will turn 36 during the season and is in the last year of a contract that will pay him $2.2 million, coach Jason Garrett said Brooking will not be a roster casualty because of a reduced role or high salary.

See any quotes from Garrett or even a "source?"

It's not news. It's total speculation.

You mean the same speculation that Brooking is starting as soon as he gets back

Come on! Why does it ALWAYS have to be player1 is soooo much better than player 2 and is gonna start... Thank God! Great, Sean Lee is playing good. Thats what we drafted him for and he was projected to do right? Brooking on the other hand brings veteran leadership, is a firey and emotional player who brings a lot of experience that he can pass on. Give it a break. Brookings knows he can't play forever and it's nice to see the team appreciate what he can bring whether on or off the field. How about we do the same, on the field or on the sidelines.
