Without a doubt. At all levels -- front, middle and back. If Jerry drafts an offensive player, we should all give him a collective mental backhand across the face. :laugh2:

I wouldn't be opposed to more Oline or a slot WR as of right now

That is what seems to be the logical thinking as of right now.
By the time the 2012 draft rolls around it could be different.

I wouldn't be opposed to getting rid of the 3-4, going back to a 4-3, making Ware a defensive end and stocking up on both o AND d-linemen. That's where its at. But I honestly have a lot of confidence that we've hit on several good o-line prospects this year, I have been pretty impressed with what I've seen so far (although that is obviously very little).

But I've just never liked the 3-4, it has always felt so...AFC.

We may need an OLB depending on whether Spencer is re-signed as well.

I guess V Butler may be able to assume the role if he continues to improve, esp vs. the run.

don't forget about ILB, the 2012 draft will have a large selection of good ILBs. James is in the last year of his contract and we don't knwo about Carter.
The 2012 draft right now to me looks good in the CB, ILB, and 3-4DE and OL. This is where we should focus. If we can get a day one starting OG or C then I'm for it, same for ILB, CB, and 3-4 DE.

As for safety, right now the safties in the draft doesn't look much better than what Dallas has now. I would look at FA or current players. Sensy and Elam are both on 1 year contracts. My two favorites are Godfrey and Griffen both on the last year of their current contracts. It would be great to have Griffen at SS and Godfrey at FS but I would take one of them and either Elam, Sensy, or Church, which ever plays the est this year.

Also Calasis Campbell and Kendell Langford are both going to be free agents next year. Both are good 3-4 DEs. Ahtyba Rubin would be a nice add to as he too will be a FA. He played NT last year under Ryan in Clevland. Brent and Rubin at NT and slide Ratliff out to DE.

But alot can change in a year. Before we really start talking about the draft lets see your our players look and the college players too.

just going off of last year and the current roster and how those current players played in the past. It's not a perfect science but thats all we have right now.

I thought the backup WRs looked better than the starters last night. The defense looked awful however, so that is where the draft should focus.

Well we do have to wait for the season, but it is still fun and easy to see where our needs might be.

The concentration has to be on every level of the D really. Our D is one of the oldest in the league and it needs some youth desperately. Maybe another OL later in the draft, but our needs on D are great even if they play well this year cause of the advancing age on D.

Dont get ahead of urselves those issues on defense should have been addressed in the draft this year. But Jerry always has to wait a year til its so blatantly obvious its awful. We should have drafted a S and CB this past April.

well yea the focus should be on defense, but that doesn't mean we can totally ignore the other side of the ball

Should be 7 picks on defense. Lets see if Jerry can avoid the shiny object for the second year in a row.

Yea, pretty obvious that it is the defense that needs alot of work to get into championship form. I would say we are 2-3 drafts away from having a top 5 defense.

I think the offense is going to have to carry the team this year either because there has not been enough time to learn Ryan's system on defense or because our players are just not that good.


Look for alot of shootouts this year and 8-8, maybe 9-7 record.

Well we need CBs. And a safety if they're there when we draft. But we should draft the BPA at a position of need if there and if not the BPA.

I was think that exact thought either earlier today or yesterday.

I would like to see us draft at least one more linemen early in the first couple rounds, but other than that I would concentrate on the defense.

Defense needs a serious infusion of youth and talent.

I would actually probably like to see us draft a cornerback in the first round. But it all depends on what is available. We could also use a linemen or a linebacker. But the entire draft should basically be defense.

I'm not worried about the 2012 draft because, last I checked, we've yet to even play the 2011 season.

Considering all the top corners were taken and it being a weak safety class who should have been drafted??
