That's why he hasn't ruled out senior Jamie Childers (Wando High School) as a quarterback candidate. Childers primarily is a tight end; he caught 19 passes for 218 yards and a TD in 2010. He did not throw a pass last season but in Coastal Carolina's first scrimmage this summer was 3-for-3 passing for 66 yards in relief of Hillary.
"It's hard to create somebody who is 6-5, 245 who runs a 4.6 (40 yards), who can run with it and catch it and do it all," Bennett said of Childers. "When NFL scouts come in here, they want to look at Jamie as a tight end."
