We're a passing team and we have a great RB. Felix is more than enough for the amount we run the ball. He'll go to a team without a QB that needs to pound the rock.

Plus the last thing we need is another "game breaker" on offense. Our offense is more than fine (Save for maybe the OL and some WR insurance).

We need some DEFENSIVE play makers.

I don't think he's be great here. He's not a physical back. Our Oline wouldn't give him the holes he needs to blast off.

I love Chris JOhnson, I was crazy about him in the 08 draft and made as hell when Jerry picked Felix over him(not that I didn't like Felix).

I live in Nashville and hear all this BS everyday about this guy.

I don't want him on the cowboys. I don't think he fits this team. The Titans have a great OL and Johnsons wants to be paid about the same as Romo. No way you can have two players getting paid that high.

Johnson is a great RB but he isn't great catching the ball. Felix is much better with screens and receiving. I would have drafted Johnson over Felix, and I would love to have Johnson but not by trading away players and future early picks. A RB is not worth it in todays style of football.

RB is one position I would almost never trade for. There are a lot of them available year after year and their careers are not that long. Plus when they decline it is usually sudden and drastic. I also think you can have a really good running game with out having a super star RB.

I'd rarely make a big move for a RB, but a 25 year old Chris Johnson would definitely be something to consider.

He supposedly wants the moon in his new contract though. The Titans reportedly have offered to make him the highest paid back in the league and that isn't good enough.

They can have Tashard Choice from us for a 5th round draft choice and be ok. If they have their sights on a Super Bowl this year they are being foolish.

I'm a huge CJ fan, but the above statement makes sense to me.

It's mind-boggling to think how good Johnson would be here but we would really have to mortgage the future to get him and we already have a couple of backs here that I'm excited about. Felix could easily surpass 1500+ total yards.

While CJ has had fantastic years recently, some are worried he is playing for that big payday and then he would go Haynesworth on you.

That worries me. I don't think I would give up the ranch for CJ. Plus I don't think he would make up for the loss in personnel, money and aggravation with his productivity. We can win without him.

If I could trade Felix straight up for CJ then I would do but CJ would have to agree to my contract first and I'm not paying him more than I'm paying Romo, which is what he wants. He wants 13 million a year for the 1st 3 years all guarenteed. SO no way would I trade for him.

Oakland might take him though, they don't mind over paying players.

If we were really in need of a running back, I might be with you on this.

But the price is too high just to upgrade the position IMO. Not only do we give them a starting running back, but also a first-round pick, and then we have to pay Johnson the enormous salary he's demanding.

The Titans should be tickled pink if they get such an offer.

I don't there should be any consideration for CJ, but Felix is far from a great RB.

Perhaps this year he can take that leap with being the #1 guy, but as of now there is zero way you can say he is already great.

MichaelWinicki

Yeah, especially with the money Fitzgerald and that lineman just got. Way too much money for one guy, not enough left over to put a quality team around them. If they can get that much money, all the more power to them. But they aren't seeing a CHAMPIONSHIP any time soon.

And that's what we're all about. CHAMPIONSHIP!

It's funny, I bet a lot were regretting that we passed up on Chris Johnson and picked Felix. But how's that looking now, with Johnson holding the Titans hostage?

This diva (Chris Johnson) turns 26 in September. More importantly, Johnson has carried the football 936 times (including the post season) in three seasons. The Titans have been questioned about running Johnson so much, especially at his size. I've seen Johnson take some serious hits. The guy weighs a buck 90, too.

I bet the Titans would be willing to trade Chris Johnson for Felix Jones if Johnson doesn't come off his outrageous contract demands. After all, the Titans wanted to draft Felix Jones. Also, I bet the Cowboys wouldn't trade Felix Jones for Chris Johnson and Johnson's outrageous contract demands and the high millage on Johnson's engine, among other reasons.

Jones is only 24, and he has only rushed the football 361 times (including the playoffs) during the last three years. Jones has extremely low mileage on his engine, and he is just entering the heart and soul of his prime. Jones is an explosive, dynamic running back who can do it all. Jones is a complete back. Marion Barber has been the biggest progress stopper since Craig Morton, too.

Finally, Chris Johnson is a poor pass protector, and his drops, in the passing game, rank among the most in the NFL, at the running back position.

With Felix Jones (24) and Dez Bryant (22), the Cowboys are sitting in the cat bird's seat.

He is a diva. He wants to be paid like a "top playmaker," a.k.a. quarterback money. Sorry, but the only ones who should be paid like top quarterbacks are top quarterbacks. I can show you plenty of QBs who essentially carried their teams, but RBs? By themselves? No way.

Let's end this.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Coach Mike Munchak says the Tennessee Titans haven’t talked about trading Chris Johnson and the answer would be no if the star running back asked for such a move.

“We would figure he’s under contract for two years, he’s going to be a Titan and we would hope a longer term than that,” Munchak said Thursday. “But I don’t think that’s anything we would even give any consideration to. He’s with us one way or another, and hopefully it ends up being on the field.”

Johnson and his agent met with Tennessee general manager Mike Reinfeldt in Nashville on Wednesday and then the running back to Orlando.

The running back teased on Twitter that he would update the status of talks between his agent, Joel Segal, and the Titans after his workout. But the three-year veteran later tweeted that he had been advised not to say anything.

“I’ll give everyone update when the time is right,” Johnson tweeted.

The Titans say they want to make him the highest paid running back in NFL history. Johnson reportedly wants more than $35 million guaranteed and $13 million per year.

Let's end this.

He's already piled up over $700,000 in fines this year and is slated to make less than $1 million. If he's not careful, he's going to be making less than a burger flipper at McDonalds. :laugh2:

This whole mess is setting up for an injury once CJ does hit the field. No OTAs, no mini-camps, no training camp and no preseason. And his team had a coaching change. I don't like that mixture. Once he comes back and I do think he will still be a Titan, it is going to be rough on his body. I hope he avoids injuries, but I think he has made himself susceptible to one. Running backs have to get hit. All football players need to get adjusted to full contact every new season and I think running backs in particular do. You can't do that in only two weeks, which is what he would get if he signed today. And it isn't as if this is going to get done soon. I'm calling pulled hammy at least and hope nothing worse.
