None of the cable/ sat. providers offer Longhorn Network in my area. Can someone let us know if there is an online stream out there... Heck, even a live radio feed would be nice.

I manage a restaurant, and I get to be 'off' for about 3 or 4 Saturdays each season. Gotta say that this blows.

As for DirecTV, spokesman Robert Mercer said that while discussions have taken place, "we have no plans right now to carry it. We understand Longhorn has other programming that may be of value to a small segment of our customers, but two UT football games do not constitute a network."

for sure! i hope mack knows he is going down with the garrett gilbert ship once it sinks, he isnt gonna survive another season like last year. lets not forget he was close to being fired before VY came, and then he got lucky with colt mccoy.

its the chris simms thing all over again, he is a great recruiter and a decent coach, but he is thickheaded about his five star QBs to realize these three star kids are better once they get to school.

Yeah I'm about over the Gilbert experiment. Get Ash or McCoy in the game and keep them there. I don't see how he can get better. Also, please put your five star recruit in the game. That being Malcolm Brown.

Except the situations are completely different. NFLN was working on getting into basic TV packages while LHN can't even break into the sports tier packages.

On another note, Shipley looks like he's going to be a good one. Just like his brother.

Gilbert Grape is still disappointing......but still gets playing time....he must have something big on Mack Brown.

The Texas OL sucks in pass protection, but has done a solid job with run blocking.

I am pleased so far with Brown and Shipley.....

BTW, I am so happy that Grande added the Longhorn Network........as much as it annoys me to have to deal with Gilbert Grape, I love watching me some Longhorns football.

i just started watching in the second half, but it does seem like the D is playing good, considering the O is struggling, or at least was earlier. i know they had a few 3 and outs in the first half

You are talking about a regional scale, which the Big 12 already had with FSN. LHN has nothing nationally. Dish, DirecTV, Comcast and Time Warner aren't carrying it and won't have pressure from their customers to do so.

and the only reason the NFL network was on Directv was to keep them happy and not face the possibility of losing sunday ticket. and verizon fios is a national carrier. Its too early in the game to claim anything, no matter how much you hate texas and how jealous you aggies are.

Good to see that leaving the conference still leaves Aggies with ginormous penis envy.

Also, Verizon fios isn't a "WHO????" type of carrier.

Fios internet, to me, is by far the best internet in the country, granted ive only had about 5 different companies for high speed internet, but when i go to my cousins and use his internet, it is INSANE! we play xbox, stream videos all at the same time on multiple screens in his media room and it doesnt even lag!

The Longhorns, especially the offense, showed vast improvement in the second half. They relied on a power running, play action-oriented attack -- the type of offense in which Gilbert is most likely to succeed.

If they can run the ball and force safeties to come up near the LOS, Garrett can make use of his best asset, a cannon arm.

while true, im concerned that while they did improve in the second half, it was a) against a crappy team and b) it came after they had taken a comfortable lead. I dont like the way gilbert seems to perform under pressure, i really hope it was just that they needed the first half to get going. the defense looked solid from what i saw tho

well Gilbert Grape impressed me in the 2nd half....except for that stupid lateral. Other than that, he played a solid game. Hopefully he can build on that and turn my hatred for him into love.....but time will tell.

I do love me some 200+ yds rushing. I want them to get up to 300+ rushing a game, with Brown getting over 100 a game. Bring back power football.

Envy? I was able to watch TAMU play up here in Washington while my UT buddy couldn't get the Horn game. I love the rivalry when we play but I don't care about who has how much of whatever trophy. The Aggies are better than some and worse than others, just like the Horns are better than some and worse than others. All I want is to enjoy watching my team and I hope whatever move the Aggies make will increase my ability to do so. I selfishly want them to join the PAC-12 but I doubt that will happen.

As for Verizon, they have access to 15 million homes and carry less than 4 million subscribers. They are still a "Who?" type of carrier when it comes to television.

I got to see the game on Saturday.....thanks to Grande making a deal with the Longhorn Network. TY Grande for that wonderful birthday present.

The Big 12 and the Big East are undefeated after the first weekend of play. UTSA won their first ever game. Judson is 2-0. The only downers were the Radway injury and Dallas still has no kicker. BTW, I don't care about the Big East, but I have been a Syracuse fan since I was a kid...started with basketball, then transferred to other sports. Still, Texas is my team and what ever conference they are in, will be my favorite.

I am doubtful it can happen, but I would love for the Big 12 to go undefeated in non-conference play. If it did happen, look for teams like OSU, A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, and even Baylor to ascend in the rankings.

Ideally for me, I would like an undefeated Texas to play an undefeated Oklahoma and see how it goes from there.

MC KAos

There is no reason why this conference should be dying, IMO it's still the second best football conference in the country, and that's without Nebraska a mediocre Texas team! It's a shame, I hope they can work it out, and from what I hear the state government might not let A&M leave after all because of the new OU/UT/PACwhatever rumors

I think that is the type of offense Mac wants to run. Strong running game and play action. I think Gilbert will take some abuse from fans but if he can help this team win games people will back off.
