Mickey, wasnt really surprised by cuts, but yeah, kinda short at ilb, but they might be short and bring back another guy later. You dont want to cut young guys that might want to put on practice squad, so you can keep them first week while everyone is shopping. Then, you can stash some young players on your practice squad, and by that time, most teams will have quit shopping, so its safe then to bring up a vet and stash young players that might not quite be ready, and so you wont lose them if you had tried to waive them earlier to put on practice squad like they did with josh thomas. Yeah, i didnt think sam young deserved to be on team after first cut, and i just didnt see young improve from last year, get stronger from last year and improve. I think they will most likely put young on practice squad today if he clears mickey says.
Mickey on Holland, they waited and waited you know for him to come around, just didnt work out. (Note we all know how fat holland came into camp and how jason told his players they had better be in shape and ready to go, which you cant give favorism to players like this, because other players get the wrong idea about being in shape and no tough head coach on discipline).
On OG Dockery,If you noticed in jason garretts press conference, jason said one little key thing position flex, where jason replied,so i asked jason what he meant by that and jason said he is kinda built like OT, and played some at college. So, might could be our swing OT when i asked jason, so there is alittle of position flex there and dockery looks hungry to play while he was waiting most of preseason for some team to sign him to play. So, we will just have to wait and see how dockery does and what kind of shape he is in and where cowboys plan to play him. I think cowboys are planning if dockery can help them out at OT in a pinch if they need him in a game or 2, he can possibly do that.
Mickey, leash on kickers as long as someone isnt there to replace them, when they signed the other veteran kickers they didnt do anything. It isnt easy to go out and get someone else like parcells used to say you just dont go out to store and buy one. I think they dont want to give up on beuhler, (remember how cowboys gave up on folk and cundiff now 2 of best kickers in nfl) and their not sure how much strength he has in his leg, so they want to give him a chance to get fully ready and recover well, by not giving up on him too soon, paraphrasing here like they gave up on folk, and cundiff.
Injured players, i dont know, players say their practicing like bennett says he is ready, but high ankle sprain is longer time to come back than that quick. Costa had more tape and bandage on his knee then i have ever seen and costa said he would be ready to go, thats the menatlity of these young players and young offensive line, bradie will be ready. Only guy concerned about is newman because they said 6 to 8 weeks, but hasnt practiced yet, so how are you going to get him ready for this opener, i just dont see it mickey says.
