Darius maintains the ability to scout for a team willing to trade for his services. The Jaguars gave Darius that freedom after he complained bitterly about being “franchised” for the third consecutive year. Dallas and Cleveland are two teams that had also been rumored to have interest in Darius.

Don't know if it is speculation or if we have contacted them.

I for one would not be against this. If we get howard we will have a greatly improved pass rush. This could allow us to play with two SS and have a big punishing defense. Also, this will be the interchangeable safties that we had with Roy and Woodson.

I seriously doubt we would trade for Darius, especially after what the Jags turned down from Minnesota.
It is pretty obvious they are wanting a lot of compensation.

I say there is less than a 1% chance this happens.

He is a strong safety but with his INT numbers leads me to believe he wouldn't be a complete liability in coverage.

Not sure what they are asking for but if the howard deal goes through the best we could offer may not get it done.

He'd be a welcomed addition in my book though.

I said this about a week ago.

I predict he will be a Cowboy.

Some people think he won't work, but I think he will.

This is who the Cowboys will go after IMO.

This is my prediction - watch it unfold.

I say 50/50. He fits Zimmers scheme perfectly. He would be an immediate solid replacement for Woody. And would allow Zimmer to run some of the same schemes he had success with in 2003.

People said it wouldn't happen last week when I said it was a possibility.

I'd love to find that link.

Here it is. . .

As I predicted, the Cowboys get in the mix.

Oh, I totally agree with you in regards to the benefits he could provide.

I would love to have him. I really do not care he is a SS, I think paired with Roy these 2 would be devestating. I would love to have him.

I just do not think the Cowboys will trade for him. If is was a late round pick than heck yeah, I think Jerry would do it in a minute.

The Jags are asking for a lot though.
Just do not see it happening.

What are they asking?

This is BIG and I mean BIG if he gets here.

Here is what they turned down.
I am not exactly sure what they want, but it must be more than what was offered here.
If reports are true Jerry is having trouble parting with a 2nd for a DE, I seriously doubt he would do it for a SS.

Vikings | Made Two Offers for Jaguars' Darius - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 14 Mar 2005 00:45:28 -0800

Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports the Minnesota Vikings gave two trade proposals to the Jacksonville Jaguars regarding Jaguars SS Donovin Darius. Both trade offers were turned down by the Jaguars. According to the report, the Vikings first offered the Jaguars their No. 7 overall pick for the Jaguars No. 21 pick and Darius. The team's second offer was reportedly a third-round pick for Darius.

Like i said in the other post about him, i'd rather not have him, even if its for cheap. I'd MUCH MUCH rather get a rookie in the draft.

Darius won't be a Cowboy. No need to bother thinking about something that won't happen.

Oh. . .

Silly me. . .

I must have forgot that Nick Eatman is the tell-all, know-all of the Dallas Cowboys.

I hope you like crow.

If Darius is signed, will you wear whatever title I chose for you for 3 days?

Based on what?

based on the fact they want a high draft pick plus the fact he wants huge dollars

use some sense man

and Darius is pretty average in coverage

Can we finish out one trade before speculating on another? Ever think about how a trade could actually go down? Assuming the Howard trade goes down, 2 #1s aren't gonna get much when you have no 2 or 3 in the same draft. We'd have to dip into next year's draft. For that reason alone, I say no.
