The Cowboys defense has been very good at stopping edge runs this year. Last week, the defensive ends and outside linebackers Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer stopped Frank Gore's options runs to the perimeters of Dallas' defense.
A repeat of that performance will go a long way towards slowing the Redskins Monday night, and would give the Cowboys a much greater chance of winning. That could prove difficult. After a slow opening game against the Giants, running back Tim Hightower posted a solid 20-98 line against the Cardinals last week.
