After seeing Alabama spank the Hogs Sat I look forward to the Nov 5th meeting betwixt Alabama and LSU. I saw LSU handle WV, and they are right there with the best in all the land. Nasty, nasty defense. Let's see where they are Nov 6th.

I have no issues with this....LSU has played one of the toughest schedules so far and has been dominant.
LSU, Oklahoma, and Alabama have so far been the class of college football and should be the top 3 ranked
I am happy to see Texas moving up to 17. That makes 5 Big 12 schools in the top 17.

It is interesting they were knocked down to #14 where lowly little ol' Baylor has now surged into the Top #15 right below them and a head of Texas.

Why are you so absorbed with everything Texas A&M?I'm just articulating the reality you are the black sheep of the Big 12 right now, that's all, you've spent weeks waxing about how noble you were in the fight against UT to get recognition and revenue and tried to act like baylor was holding you hostage by not agreeing to waive the right to sue for damages if the Big 12 were negatively affected by A&M dealings, a position that became unified among all remaining nine schools.
So you and your arrogant fanbase summoned bad blood from the rest of the Big 12, especially after it was revealed that you lied through your teeth (despite your own personal adamant insistence to the contrary) about being committed to the Big 12, a broken agreement you personally blamed on the Longhorn Network even though it has been revealed from the horse's mouth in Loftin that A&M was in fact talking out of both sides of their mouth last summer, this lack of integrity is why fans will be chanting "Big 12" after every Aggie loss for the rest of the year.
Especially in light that you like to downplay the success of other programs instead of just leaving it alone or rejoicing in your own successes (what few exist) instead your fanbase is of the mold that likes to demean other programs instead of taking pride in their own, as if that somehow lifts Aggie prestige.
Reality is you've in the process alienated the Big 12 as you prepare to join a conference that you're ill prepared to compete in and ironically stand to leave the Big 12 with a mediocre record given the strength of this year's competition too, something you try to deny .
So frankly it's just fun to point out the absurdity of the alternate universe A&M and Aggies in general live in when it comes to sports, they fail to realize they're perceived as out of touch, obnoxious and self aggrandizing and when they get a little push back they completely go ape.
You guys griped about UT pushing you around then get mad when Baylor holds a line against the big boys to ensure a fairer revenue sharing and preservation of the conference, instead of acting in the interest of tradition (something you claim to admire so) or sportsmanship you actually tried to undermine the conference and lie about the fact you intended to bolt regardless of the after thought that was the Longhorn Network.
You guys forfeited respect and isolated yourselves within the state of Texas by making such moves, it's unfortunate but the A&M of the present is now on a long road to being marginalized from Texas sports as a whole and in a most uncompetitive manner at that.

I used to support Texas A&M, but now I support their destruction. They are going to have an extremely ****ty existence in the SEC. Moving there was a BIG mistake.
Now, not only are they black sheep of the Big12, they will be a redheaded stepchild in the SEC.

I was at the WVU/LSU game Saturday night, .. and I was impressed with LSU, they have a solid team, in all three phases.
As a matter of fact, special teams was the difference in the game. IMO
Their punter pinned us inside the 15 something like seven times, and inside the 10 five times. He was the MVP in my book.
That, and the game-changing, momentum stealing, kick-off return right when WVU had put themselves in a great spot, cutting the lead to 27-21. The house was rocking, .. our offense was pretty much having their way with them and our defense was stopping their offense so we felt like we had the game in control and then the kickoff return took the wind right out of us, all of the air went out of the stadium.
It was fun watching LSU, because they have a great team, but I wouldn't crown them the best defense in the nation just yet.
Geno Smith dropped back for 65 passing attempts, 65! ... no sacks.
LSU got no sacks.
Geno threw for 463 yds, and the Mountaineer offense rolled up 533 yards of total offense.
That is not the best defense in the country.

But Aggie pride also fueled an unconquerable optimism that bordered on braggadocio. Aggie players played better, ran faster and tackled harder, whether they did or not. A&M was able to go out and do what we deemed in our best interest (whether you agree with it or not) instead of fighting for whatever scraps Texas was willing to throw our way. You really think Baylor would have turned down a chance to go to the most prestigious conference in America? If you do, then you are seriously deluding yourself. This whole "Save Texas football" bit from Baylor is them trying to save face and scrap together a makeshift conference to keep getting that AQ conference check for a few more years. The Big XII is far too unstable to last longterm, with or without A&M. OU, Missouri and Texas are far too independent and out for their own interests for the league to stand any real chance (not that there is anything wrong with that). All three will jump at the first available opportunity.
The bottom line here however is that you have taken your anger (or personal amusement, or whatever the hell you want to call it) about a college athletics situation and applied it a to an entire group of people on a personal level. You seriously need to reconsider the basis for which you judge the rest of humanity, because unleashing all this hatred upon a school and a group of people over conference realignment speaks to a serious lack of perspective on your part.

ESPN currently has a vested financial interest in running down A&M, nobody expects them to say anything different. Posting ESPN articles and blogs criticizing our move as proof that it is in fact a poor decision is akin to someone using Mein Kampf as proof that the Jews are in fact the root cause of the world's financial problems.

What do you think A&M is going to get in the SEC?
A better quality television deal (not just financially, which it will be after the deal is revised next summer, but in terms of network quality as well), a newfound recruiting advantage and, most importantly, complete and total conference stability, something that no one in the Big XII will ever have again. The people looking at it from a simple wins and losses perspective over the first few years in football are either shortsighted or have alternate agendas to push. Also, consider that not so very long ago LSU and Florida were floundering in the SEC with programs far inferior to the one A&M currently has, and now look at them. It is hardly a foregone conclusion that we will ever be relevant in that conference.
For the first time in our history, A&M has showed a strong sense of independency. Whether or not you agree with the move is your perogative, but the fact remains that we didnt just say "Ok" and go with it when Texas changed the terms of an agreement as we so often have in the past. We're doing what we believe is in our best interest Hopefully for their sake, one day Baylor will be in a position to do the same.

ESPN has a financial interest in making sure Texas and all their interests are cast in a positive light. Texas' Network deal takes a serious hit if they move to another conference and have to drop it entirely or modify it in any way. A&M's move seriously threatens conference stability and pissed off Deloss Dodds. That is why the coverage of this move has been almost entirely negative with regards to A&M. It's one thing to disagree with the move, there are Aggies who don't like the move, but the active attempt to run down an entire school has reached the level of absurdity.

This, I don't see. I see a University that tucked it's tail and ran. I think they were blinded by the fact that it's the SEC and didn't think about whether they would actually fit in. Texas A&M is a long way from Florida. I doubt a lot of Florida high school athletes will go all the way to A&M if they can land in an SEC school that is much closer. (not to mention a better football team)

I'm not sure ESPN gives a crap that Texas A&M left. The Longhorns will still play a team even if it's not Texas A&M. It's the Longhorn Network, not the Big12 or Texas A&M Network. Whether Texas (Longhorns) leaves the Big12 for the Pac or not. The Longhorn Network will still exist.

We "tucked tail and ran" to the best conference in America? We're not leaving the Big XII for the Big East, we're leaving for a conference that has won five straight national titles and is on pace a sixth this year. We arent doing this because we're afraid of the compeittion in the Big XII, otherwise we would be going to an inferior conference.
Also, the recruiting advantage doesnt extend to other states so much (though A&M currently recruits Louisiana and Florida very well) but gives A&M a card to play when OU and Texas come calling. Many athletes want to play in the SEC. A&M has already picked up two commitments who were previously committed to other schools, citing wanting to lay in the SEC as the main reason. Will it be a world of difference? No, but it will help get a few players every year who we wouldnt have gotten otherwise, we're already seeing that play out.

The Pac-12 currently does not allow independent TV deals, and Texas would at best have to modify the deal to make it work out there. You think USC will sit by and watch Texas put them on the backburner? You think Oregon and their almost unlimited financial pull will allow it?

ESPN called Texas A&M a "remedial school" on air and has time and again questioned the intelligence and integrity of the people in charge. Don't give me the classic "ESPN hates everyone lolz" line. I've seen my education and my degree questioned over a freaking conference change on national TV over the past few months.

I feel the need to complain when the institution I attended gets attacked over an athletic issue. ESPN is a huge influential media outlet, this isnt some random idiot making these attacks. People care what ESPN has to say, and right now the average American thinks my degree is akin to toilet paper because we're too freaking stupid to see the light and bow to Texas.

Rome wasn't built in a day. What did you think was supposed to happen? It would be in all cable households across America on day one?
Get a grip.
The following are signed on thus far.
Consolidated Communications
En-Touch Systems
E-Tex Communications
Bay City Cablevision
Mid-Coast Cablevision
Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision
Verizon FiOS
I don't know the exact amount of households there are with these, but this page is reporting about four million (http://www.statesman.com/sports/longhorns/longhorn-network-signs-more-deals-but-none-in-1797136.html).
They are still in negotiations with:
Time Warner Cable
Charter Communications
Dish Network
DirecTV
Suddenlink
AT&T U-verse
Just because they aren't signed on yet, doesn't mean they won't be. These guys are backed by ESPN. Any cable station that carries a sports package will end up carrying LHN. Just like all the other college networks.

BTW, the Aggies are not even a second tier team. I would put them third tier....even with the very good year they had last year.
Texas, OU, OSU, Missouri, and Nebraska were all better than A&M. Even Texas Tech was better during the Leach era. A&M was right there was KSU and Colorado in the 3rd tier. But hey, at least they were above Baylor, Kansas, and Iowa St.
It's ok that you won't have Texas to look up at anymore, you will still have your sheep.:D

Posting ESPN articles and blogs criticizing our move as proof that it is in fact a poor decision is akin to someone using Mein Kampf as proof that the Jews are in fact the root cause of the world's financial problems.I think you pretty well prove the quote's assertion of how out of touch you all seem in College Station, take off the tin foil hat, Baylor alumni Trey Wingo is not conspiring ESPN against you.
Nor is the Texas legislature unfairly giving advantage to UT and not A&M, you're one of two schools that refuses to revenue share oil profits with other state schools because you're grand fathered in by an archaic law.
The most powerful governor in Texas history is an Aggie and incumbent, pretty sure he has some pull to do favorable things for A&M and neutralize any supposed Longhorn bias in Austin.
You are not picked on, you're just divorced from reality, and unfortunately the university's integrity is done disservice by smoking gun proof they acted in bad faith in their claims to remain committed to the Big 12 last summer.
The one in need of perspective is you, you've failed to see how asinine the school looks to the general public and you've continued to tow the line on various threads about all those undesirable stereotypes.
