ARLINGTON, Texas — It's a wonder even the casual football fan around here has fingernails anymore. For the past 10 months, the Dallas Cowboys have kept their faithful on the edge of their seats, or couches, until the final gun.
The Cowboys have won some, they've lost some, but they've been in them all.
With Monday night's come-from-behind 18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins at Cowboys Stadium, Dallas extended its NFL record of close shaves. For nine straight games, three more than any team in history, the Cowboys have been involved in a contest decided by three points or less.
