I think we can probably all agree that these three teams look like they are the best in the country, but it's anyone's guess as to who THE best is. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I really can't decide. I think it's a toss-up, really. All three have dominant defenses. 'Bama and LSU might have a slight edge there, but I think OU's offense is superior to both of them. So I'm leaning towards OU a bit. Then again, I'm an OU fan, so I'm a little biased. :D

On a related note, if OU is fortunate enough to make it to the championship game and play LSU, they will have to face them in Louisiana again. OU had to play national championships vs Florida State in Florida, against LSU in Louisiana and against Florida in Florida. Would be nuts if it happened yet again.

anyone see #18 for LSU celebrating that incompletion? He was beat by 10 yards and the QB underthrew it.

We will find out, LSU plays alabama, and then the winner of that game will most likely play OU.

OU has the best QB of those 3

Bama has the best RB.....Look for those 2 to decide it all in the end.

Hopefully...;)

LSU vs. OU in the National Championship, toss up who wins.

I would have put Clemson near them had their QB not gotten injured.

I don't see LSU beating Alabama. Oklahoma and Alabama would be an awesome matchup.

i think wisconsin is just as good as those three teams, they are all very close, and in my opinion, russell wilson is the best QB from the bunch, he has the best running game, the second best set of receivers and the best offensive line to handle those big SEC D lines. I think it all depends on matchup, but i see oklahoma beating wisonsin, wisconsin beating either LSU or Bama, and the SEC teams beating OU.

i think stanford and Boise are distant fifth and sixth, but they could beat the top four on any given saturday (or whenever the championship game is played)

For 1 game you're confident all those teams can beat Kellen Moore & Boise State with a month to prepare?

Wisconsin is another legit team. If Wisconsin and OU play it's a toss up.

I agree that Wisconsin, Stanford, and Boise need to get included in on this conversation. This would make a good year for playoff. There might be a couple of very good undefeated teams left out this year.

OU's defense is good but suspect at times and Bama's offense is anemic. LSU's defense is absolutely incredible and their offense is solid. I'd definitely go with the Tigers right now, I think they would/will completely shut down OU's spread attack. They are just too fast and have too much defensive talent.

LSU or Bama's defense would hold Boise's offense to under 250 yards in a blowout IMO. The Broncos just don't have the horses to hang with elite SEC defenses.

Whoever wins between LSU and Alabama.

That would leave one team with a loss and Oklahoma will have a loss sometime this season as well...seems to happen.

While I do agree that Wisconsin, Stanford and Boise State are all very good teams (I would also include Okie State in the conversation as well), I still feel like they are on a second tier compared to OU, LSU and Alabama.

In my mind, it goes like this:

1a. Oklahoma
1b. LSU
1c. Alabama
------------
4. Wisconsin
------------
5. Stanford
6. Oklahoma State
7. Boise State

Why no love for Wisconsin? :D

I think we could very easily have 4 undefeated teams after this regular season - and that's not including Boise State. I don't see anyone beating LSU or Alabama so whoever wins that game should be undefeated. Ditto OU-OSU. I think Wisconsin runs the table. And Clemson and Stanford each have a fighting chance to go undefeated, although both have tough matchups remaining so I'm not ready to pencil them in yet.

I agree about Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Oline is a MACHINE and they got a quality QB.

I think it goes Bama, LSU, and then you can throw about 3 or 4 other teams in that next clump.

IMO

1.Bama

2.LSU

3.Boise

4.Oklahoma

5.Wisconsin

The thing about the teams behind the SEC squads is they are getting better QB play. The SEC squads are playing incredible D though.

LSU's secondary is the real deal.

Mo Claiborne to Dallas please...

After watching LSU last night, I was blown away at how good they are...

If they play smart football, no one will touch them...

Alabama has the best scoring defense in the nation; no team has scored more than 14 points against them, and they have already pitched two shutouts. They have the best RB in the nation; it takes more than one man to bring down Richardson, and he is on pace to break Mark Ingram's school records. It is virtually impossible to run against them, and they knock QBs out of games.

Alabama will run the table and prove to the world they are the best team in college football.

LSU IS my pick

Right now LSU.

If I had to rank the top 3

LSU
OU
Bama

One thing that works for OU is LSU and Bama will be facing off with each other.

LSU or Alabama...we'll see in a few weeks.

Then OU. They could be great but we won't know until the title game assuming they make it. I guess OSU could have something to say about it.

Once again we get to see how flawed the BCS system is because odss are that OU gets to play the LSU/Bama winner while they both have to run the guantlet.

Oh well.

Being an Ok. State fan, OU is going to the National Championship game. They'll probably end up playing Wisconsin. I don't think that LSU or Alabama can make it through the season without getting beat and OU and Wisconsin can.

Alabama.

My logic: West Virginia passed for 463 yards on LSU's defense.

Alabama has a better defense in my opinion.

The thing I like about the Alabama versus LSU debate is we know that will be settled on the field. However, the debate between LSU/Alabama winner versus the OU/OSU winner versus Wisconsin versus Standford versus Clemson versus Boise State won't be.

here are the Tiers IMO

tier 1

Alabama
LSU

tier 2

OU
Wisconsin

Tier 3

Boise State
Stanford

Tier 4
Everyone else

Okie state is good, but i just dont think they are as good as the rest of the teams, i dont see how they could be considered much better than georgia tech, clemson or oregon. Oklahoma state would have to beat OU at OU to be included in the national championship picture. They barely ever beat OU to begin with, and having to do it in Norman seems extremely unlikely.

as for wisconsin, their Oline is so massive and good, their average weight is higher than the green bay packers oline!!! i bet they have above average linemen than the nfl by weight!

man, i wish we would have a playoff!! at least a plus 1!! we could get winner of bama/LSU vs Stanford or Boise and OU vs Wisconsin!! how awesome would that be!

i guess they couldnt keep the rotations exactly the way they were back when they had 2 divisions and 12 teams! wow, that makes a big difference! id say they have a 35% chance of winning

So true.
You just don't know until you see two tems face each other on the playing field.
College football has this issue every season....speculation, opinions, polls, and little head-to-head evidence.

I can almost not remember a year where the top two teams ealry in the season ended up being the top two teams in real life.

Who is to say a team like Wisconisn is not better than an OU or Bama. If they run the table, we have an issue.
