Former NFL QB Dan Marino said he believes there is a good chance his NFL record 5,084 passing yards in a season will be broken this season. New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton are all on pace to surpass the record this season.

If the Patriots keep playing weak secondaries, it's a possibility. Eventually not being able to run the football will catch up with all of those teams, though, including us.

But Tony chokes.....if he needs 2 yards to break it....will he be picked....J/K
However,
...with Austin, Bryant, witten, and now Robinson....he sure has the weapons to do it. But I say Brady or Brees will do it before Romo.

If Cam Newton winds up being one of several QB's to surpass Marino's record in his rookie season, the NFL game will have officially changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if they all did it....except Newton. He's going to come down I think.

Newer records won't really compare: When the older QBs did it, they were no safety rules about clobbering the QB, or messing with the WRs, etc. Unitas, Marino, or Elway type records are really in special class.
But it is good for the fun pastime of arguing about sports....

The game has already changed since Marino played, significantly.
