if not, how would you feel about Dallas taking a run at him.

Imagine Hillis and Jones sharing carries. If anything, Hillis gives us a legit red zone running threat.

I would love me some Hillis in Big D....of course, I wouldn't break the bank to get him though.

Be nice to have a bruiser back but Garrett wouldn't use him properly of course. He would be a waste of money and there would be endless threads of wahh wahh wahh how we wasted money, Hillis suck, Garrett sucks, sprinkle in Romo sucks, etc

Why bother

No thanks. Marion Barber 2.0 minus the athleticism.

The NFL is no longer a Mike Alstott league.

He would also cost too much.

Unless he can make multiple defenders miss in our backfield i don't see the point, he'd be just as ineffective as every other back on our team

I like Hillis a lot, but I also know the history of power backs who carry a big load; they don't last long... this concerns me when I think about your proposed scenario...

It might be a hell of a move for the short term, though...

So, you're assuming that next year's offensive line will be bad??

I stand in awe of your amazing ability to see the future...

I'd like to see Trent or Lattimore in a Cowboys uniform next year. (x) as in crossing my fingers.

Normally I get annoyed with these type of ideas (let's bring in someone's over rated player), but I gotta admit, if the money was right, I would. We sorely need a RB with a nose for the endzone.

But we also need an interior o-line that can push a d-line.

Given our recent OL history it's safer then assuming it's going to be good or even decent. If our offseason efforts are spent going after players like Hillis instead of doing something about it then it will be

Hillis is grossly overestimating his value around the league.

Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis admits he probably would've tried to play vs. Miami had his agent not advised against it

BEREA, Ohio -- Peyton Hillis admitted Monday that he probably would've tried to play against the Dolphins on Oct. 2 if his agent hadn't advised against it.

"He was just looking out for me," said Hillis of agent Kennard McGuire. "That's what he's there for, so I have to give him thanks, too. Because I'm stubborn and hardheaded and I like to go out there and play even though I was probably not up for it."

Conversely, Hillis said if McGuire had endorsed playing with the strep throat and flu-like symptoms, he would've heeded that advice.

"By the way I was feeling, I just needed somebody else's opinion," said Hillis. "If he'd have said, 'Peyton, you probably can do your thing,' I'd have listened to that. But he is my agent and he does help me out and I think we made the right choice, because I was definitely not healthy enough to play."

I would definitely like to see him wearing the star next year but he's just too expensive.I think he could really help us when it comes to the redzone...

Given our recent OL history it's safer

You mean, the recent history where the Boys drafted what looks like a future Pro Bowl OT in the first round??

My point is that our recent OL history is irrelevant, because we have Jason Garrett as our head coach now, and Jerry appears to be set on giving Jason the players that he covets...

The first evidence of that was the draft last year-- Smith, Arkin, Nagy... this clearly demonstrated that Garrett wants to address the offensive line issue aggressively... so it would not be a stretch to imagine the Boys again going OL heavily in the draft (and perhaps in free agency) the next time around...

So, here's a brief hypothetical for you-- the Boys move Tyron to LT, Free to RT, and the Boys draft a Peter Konz, Ben Jones or Michael Brewster early... that rookie is then plugged in at center...

You starting to feel a little more optimistic about the OL prospects for next year yet?? The thing is, that's an eminently plausible scenario I've just thrown out...

Which is all my long-winded way of saying that I believe the rebuilding of our offensive line is only just begun, and more of the project will ensue next offseason... Jason Garrett played for a team whose secret to success was arguably the best offensive line in the history of the game, naturally he'd believe that the secret to success in the NFL is a dominating offensive line...

If our offseason efforts are spent going after players like Hillis instead of doing something about it then it will be

So, going after a Hillis would preclude them going after any more offensive line help?? What interesting logic...

If Hillis would make us legit in the redzone, I would be all for having him here.

The problem with Barber is that we made him the starter. We wasted him, instead of using him in the closer role.

It's really similar to baseball. You don't make your relief pitcher a starter, and expect him to have the same type of success. That said you rely on that fastball in the 9th.

You get a guy who will drive into the endzone in the redzone, it completely changes the dynamic of our team.

No thanks, put a bruiser back behind our O-Line and he'll be averaging 2 yards a carry.

At what it would cost to get him all we'd see 2-3 games into his being here is how Jerry Jones was once again a moron and paid too much for a player who isn't as good as advertised.

Thanks but no thanks.

You can find a guy like Hillis in the 5th round. We probably already have one on the roster in Phillip Tanner. A big guy who can just put his head down and slam into a defense isn't that hard of a commodity to find.

Hillis is 240 lbs bruiser with some giddy up, there are no RB like that on the Cowboys roster. Unless you think Fiametta is a RB? While he is closer in size, no where close as a runner, or even receiver.
