IRVING, Texas -- After the Cowboys’ collapse against Detroit on Oct 2, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, who was on Dallas’ last Super Bowl team, proclaimed Tony Romo as a quarterback that will not take the team to its next championship.

On Thursday Romo was asked if he was aware of Sanders’ comments.

“Every once in a while you definitely hear things that come out but that’s not something you search out,” Romo said. “Deion’s welcome to his own opinion about stuff. Deion’s Deion. He is what he is. We’re going to go out here and we’re going to play good football. This team’s going to win a Super Bowl at some point and it’s going to be exciting when that time comes. And when we look back we’ll know who was on what side of the fence during the tough moments. That’s exciting for us as competitors that we get a chance to get better and go out there and have a chance one day.”

I like how Tony handled that. Diplomatic, but with a competitive tilt.
And I like how the message remains getting better going forward with the ultimate prize in mind down the road.

Deion IS entitled to his opinion, like everyone else. As long as you own up to what side you were on, then that's fine.

Wow. First time Romo's has actually taken a side on something someone said in a while. I like it. Some of his competitiveness coming through his words.

"Deion is Deion. He is what he is." Sounds like this might be the opinion of a lot of football people. Deion isn't exactly held in high regard, it seems. Good.

I like how he mentions that they'll remember who was on their side and who wasn't.

I agree. I can't stand Sanders. Deion is only about himself and the microphone in front of his mouth at that time. He could care less who he drives his bus over.

Be the friends, family or acquaintances. Don't get in his way.

Romo had a great reply. Good!

Someone has had a sitdown with Romo. Have not seen hime this agressive in at least 5yrs but I do love it. Much much better than his usual "It's a Process". Seems like he is strapping it on and saying follow me to the rest of his teamates. I like this positive attitude of not backing down and eating it. Maybe being married is good for him!
