Bears bench both safeties and opt to start two unknowns vs the Vikings Sunday. Dang. What a statement.

I kind of thought that Meriweather would show something in a new system, but I guess not. At least Barber and Roy are helping out. :)

It's pretty cool, actually. Coaches should pull starters from games, or bench them more often. Even skipping as series now and then makes a huge point, and it can be an effective way to send a message instead of the dire consequence it's seen as right now.
If your QB throws a careless first-down pick when up by 27, pull him for a play or two and have his position coach work through any issues and/or reinforce what needs to happen in that particular game situation. Do it productively, and not as a punishment, but it still reinforces the point. And only do it at positions where you're comfortable you have an NFL-ready backup looking to fill in.

maybe we can trade our 3rd round pick for both, that will solve our safety problems.

Lol, I hope you're joking because Roy Williams hasn't done squat for that team.
The popular alibi was that "he wasn't being used right." Now he's with his old offense coordinator and isn't even starting I believe.
