FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- For the second consecutive game, wide receiver [/URL]Dez Bryant (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13215/dez-bryant) didn't have a catch in the second half and didn't make any excuses for why it happened again Sunday afternoon vs. the Patriots.
"To tell the truth they were playing the same coverages throughout the game," said Bryant, who finished with four catches for 78 yards and no touchdowns.

It's hard to catch a pass when your not getting any thrown your way. I wish Garrett would have called his number down at the goal line when we ended up settling for 3.

Yeah, I'm on record as hating the fade pass for the most part. But occasionally you get a rare player like a Megatron or a Dez who has the particular talent to make that play time after time. I have no idea why we didn't try it even once against the Patriots very average corners.

I don't know why we aren't throwing jump balls to him down there. It works, it's worked more than once in the past, but for some reason we're not doing it now.
But we've got to have Romo and Dez start hooking up more through out the game. I don't understand, and obviously I don't get to see all of whats going on during a play on my TV screen, why Dez is going entire halves without catching any passes.

Totally. This pisses me off. Apparently he had one on one coverage down there. Throw a goal-line fade and let him go get it; if anyone can do it he can.

He was 1 on 1 with that 5'9" corner for New England on the play that they called the shovel pass.
It boggles my mind both that they didn't even call a fade to him and that Romo didn't simply check out of the play call to the fade when they lined up and gave Dez 1 on 1 out there.

I hate it because Romo can't throw it very well, but really, that's the time you throw one and that's the type of player you throw it to.

You guys keep forgetting who the real coach of this team is. Red is the OC and not a very good one.

It's bizarre that we weren't throwing into the end zone (other than the Robinson PI play). It must have been something they chose to do on purpose, or a result of the coverages they were getting, but I can't explain it.
It is also bizarre that we didn't make the effort to get Dez the ball in the second half again. Maybe it's Romo not trusting him to be where he needs to be, but with Miles' drops singlehandedly killing a drive, you'd think they'd have given Dez a look or two afterward.

Hur-dur. Thanks for sharing!

Dez... Dez I think still runs wrong and imprecise routes, and that's a bit of a problem (though not on simple lob passes from inside the 10). But Miles is the experienced, precise route runner who knows the offense inside and out, and I thought getting him back healthy would be huge.
I'm sure they doubled him some (one play I remember a LB faking from one side and right before the snap running all the way across the formation to double Miles underneath) but I thought it would be too tough to double Miles and Witten.
I dunno, I'm still pretty surprised we didn't pass up and down the field like we did much of the game against the Jets and Lions. If we lost, I thought it would be in a shootout.

Romo was saying the coverage scheme the Pats were using predicated that they throw a lot of short underneath "7-10 yard" passes.
It still doesn't explain not throwing to Dez in the redzone. I had to watch the game on the computer, so I'm not sure if the Pats were rolling a safety over to double team Dez after the snap.

I am, too. Though, I have to admit, it looked like NE had 14 men on the field at times. They got push up the middle and somehow covered both our game-breaking wideouts and our HoF TE deep. It's not like Tony's not going to take those chances if there were opportunities there.
I don't see how that defense from yesterday was ever rated last in the league at anything. They looked pretty dang good to me.

That's possible and could be why he isn't getting the ball in the second half cause his QB doesn't trust him to work like he should on his routes.
But if that's the case they need to get that sort of crap out of him or find someone who works hard all the time.
I'm not interested, no matter how talented the kid is (and I do believe he's unbelievably talented), in having someone take plays off or not work hard every play like a Randy Moss.
I thought Randy was great, as anyone would I'm sure, but he drove me nuts with that damn attitude of taking plays off and crap.

It might be worth noting that no one actually knows if he's taking plays off, it was just a shot in the dark. The idea that the same dude that is throwing guys off to fight for every last inch, at the risk of bodily injury, is also the same guy that decides to only play when the ball is coming his way doesn't exactly match up.
Miles and Romo haven't exactly been in sync all year, is Miles also taking plays off?

FWIW, one of the national writers on twitter noted during the Jets game I believe that when Dez knows the ball isn't going his way, he barely runs his routes.
Just throwing that out there..
As for Romo and Miles, I think alot of has to do with his hammy. He missed alot of training camp, practice time, and games. Hopefully, they can get back on the same page.

Would that be before, or after, he bruised his quad and started cramping (which similarly caused him to miss a lot of practice time)?

And I'm not saying he is.
I agreed that it's possible, not that I know if it is or not, but that if it is true I'd rather not deal with that kind of BS.
That's all. It's all a speculation thing and nothing more.
