One way to boost this running game will be to get a true fullback out there.

While the Cowboys have been getting by – barely – with tight end John Phillips leading the way on some running plays, the return of Tony Fiammetta should add a spark to a running game that ranks 27th in the NFL.

Fiammetta, who joined the Cowboys just before the start of the season, has only played one game because of a hamstring injury he suffered in his Cowboys debut against San Francisco.

“It’s a little frustrating any time you’re not on the field,” said Fiammetta, who admitted he had to stay patient in his rehab. “But you have to be smart and a lot of games left to play. Taking that time off will pay dividends in the end.”...

I'm pretty excited about Fiammetta, I've always wanted to maintain this hard-nosed running style that utilizes a FB.

I think his information is inaccurate. Fiammetta played against Washington as well.

I'm glad he'll be back, they need him for the power running game. I like him at FB with Murray running the rock.

He's listed as probable.

Yes, this is correct, and he had more playing time vs the Redskins (to the best of my recollection anyways). And I don't know how much he actually played in the 49ers game.

In the 'skins game he was the lead blocker on Dallas' 2 longest runs of the season - the 29 yard and the 40 yard runs by Felix.

Watching those replays at nfl.com http://www.nfl.com/scores/2011/REG3 and its sweeeeeet to see a true blocking FB springing those runs.

I can't wait for Fiammetta's return.

Yes, you are correct stasheroo. It is inaccurate.......(is what I meant to say).

My above reply initially sounded like I was saying, "yes, the article was accurate" ....My bad, my edit button disappeared. :o:

I'm excited as well. St Louis is 29th against the run giving up 809 yards. Fiammetta is a head knocker who was sorely missing these last couple of games. My dream is for Murray to get the start and have a 100+ yard game. Against St Louis it could happen. Then it would be hard for Felix to come back and supplant him as the starter (which is a good thing and no knock on Felix).

They are allowing 163 yards per game on the ground so far this year. That doesn't mean we gash them like that, but it bodes well for us so far.
