Romo, Bryant fail to connect when Cowboys need it

IRVING - Tony Romo takes a quick, one-step drop and then lofts the ball into the end zone where Dez Bryant snatches it away from an overmatched defender.

It's a scenario fans of the Dallas Cowboys want to see come true, but Romo told reporters this week it's just not that easy when foes continue to double Bryant inside the red zone.

"When it's one-on-one, (throwing the fade to Bryant) is what we're going to do," Romo said. "When they have a safety and they get two guys, it's not a good matchup."

The lack of a consistent Romo-to-Bryant connection is a hot topic as the Cowboys (2-3) prepare to host winless St. Louis on Sunday. Bryant has caught only two passes after halftime this season and has been targeted only twice inside the 10-yard line.

I would throw to Dez double covered or not - the guy will come down with the ball, period. The lack of vision and creativitiy in the red zone is whats killing us. Roll-out, pitch-out, stretch the defense - its infuriating that we can't put the ball in the end zone. And I blame the coach, period.

This is the same guy that will call for Romo to get fired when he gets intercepted for throwing into double coverage....

Did you feel the same after Detroit week?
