I am just curious if anyone knows the players we visited with last year?

Did we meet with Julius?

I know Steven Jackson visited. So what does that tell you? :banghead:

Yeah, and if I remember right so did Tatum Bell, Kevin Jones, and a few others.

I am just trying to figure out how much BP likes to play possum. Did we draft one guy that we reportedly visited with?

We know he was high on Jones, but did we ever even visit with him, or did BP act as if he had no interest?

It seems like I remember Julius coming in for a visit. But like the Ragin' Cajun said, we brought in Jackson too... so it's hard to come to any conclusions based on who we bring in.

Apparently, Parcells liked Jackson... just not any more than he liked Julius. Call it a second round like, if you will. :D

I'll say this. If Parcells liked Julius the best and still got him and at the same time got another #1 then it was a genius move, however I do remember that BP and Jerry were trying to move back up then and take Kevin Jones but the Lions snagged him first.

SO I think the order in which they liked the RBS were Kevin Jones, Julius and then Steven Jackson. Now that is just an assumption based on what happened.

I don't remember us bringing in Steven Jackson. I know Julius, Clarett and tatum Bell were in the bunch you can bring into the ranch prior to the draft. Sean Ryan was also in that group. Parcells was yelling in the hall to bring the big Irishman over. I also believe one of the lineman we drafted was also in the group.

You can only bring in a certain number of players into your training facility and I don't believe they workout?

I am pretty confident S. Jackson wasn't in that group but could be wrong.

We did NOT bring in Steven Jackson last year.
Parcells spoke with Jackson over the phone briefly and that was all.

We did bring in Julius Jones, Tatum Bell and I believe Kevin Jones.

It's probably worth clarifying that some of these posts and news items about the Cowboys meeting specific players really just means that Dallas is one of a dozen or so teams represented at their workout.

But like was mentioned above, each team can bring in a specific number of players (12, I think) sometime before the draft to get acquainted.

The list of players visiting Valley Ranch was pretty much public knowledge until a couple of years ago and we all know why it's not anymore. A few names have leaked out during the past couple of years, but the information isn't quite as readily available.

They usually come in on a Thursday or Friday about two weeks before the draft. In 2002, the list included Roy, Antonio, Derek Ross, along with a few others such as Javon Walker and Buchanon (the CB from Miami). Andre Gurode wasn't one of the visitors because they weren't going to consider him in the first round and didn't think he would still be there in the second.

I thought that When Jackson was interviewed after the draft he had said that "When I was there and they showed me around Dallas...." He was so sure they would draft him and he wanted to be drafted by Dallas. He was so disappointed. Maybe I remember the interview wrong or something but that seemed to stick in my mind.

The other guys are right. Jackson was never brought in. Julius was along with Ryan, Bell, Peterman and others
