Witten has owned the Eagles (http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.com/cowboys/2011/10/witten-has-owned-the-eagles.html)
-- Charean Williams
The Eagles have made Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. In his past nine games against Philadelphia, Witten has 53 catches for 612 yards and five touchdowns.
Strong side linebacker Moise Fokou likely will draw Witten most of the night, but Witten also could see cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. In Week 2, Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez caught seven passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns against the Eagles. Defensive coodinator Juan Castillo told Philadelphia reporters after that game that he might have put Asomugha on Gonzalez if not for an injury to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

If Cromartie is available, then Cromartie and Asante will.
According to another article, the DC put Nnamdi on Vernon Davis when they played SF.

That kinda scares me. We are going to struggle throwing the football imo, better get the run game going early and often.

Really? I think I like the Dallas option in each of those three coverage scenarios. Plus, we haven't seen them throw much to Murray in the slot, yet. One of those guys is going to get a matchup we can exploit.

We won't see Murray do much besides run until Felix is back IMO.
But I think NA can at least limit Witten and the other two get safety help and there's no deep threat. And I hate the idea of Samuel covering Dez because he does not run good routes. I see that getting exploited, especially if the Eagles are able to get consistent pressure on Tony.

GB does this with Woodson. Difference is Nnamdi doesn't play with the same physicality in the trenches as Woodson. Hopefully the Cowboys are prepared for this possibility. If so, they can isolate that matchup in the running game to their advantage.

Fine by me.
You have Asomugha occupying Witten that means Dez or Miles will be matched up on Asante.

I'll take Witten's size over NA's athleticism all day every day.

And if it's 3rd down and 3 yards or less, I see a draw to Witten's side.

Then who covers Robinson. He's a very good #3 WR. Robinson > any 4th CB.

This. Its a different skill set in the traffic and off the line. Chess match, even if it does take Witten out, will open something else.

I wouldn't. But putting Nmandi on Witten means Dez or Austin should have a field day. Nmandi is the Eagles best man-to-man cover. I doubt Samuel or Cromartie, particularly Cromartie, can take Dez and Miles out of the game.
Dez will MOSS either Samuels or Cromartie.

Yeah, this move doesn't scare me either. Asomugha is a great corner - on the outside. I think moving him inside to cover a TE does us a favor, rather than the Eagles.
Bring it on.

We saw what happened the last time a Cromartie tried covering Dez.

While I worry about Asante getting a pick, I like him having to tackle Dez
