Just so that every "expert" is wrong. I'd find it funny. They were all wrong on Newton this year.

And what would that do?
Reinforce the idea that the draft is a crapshoot even when dealing with consensus elite prospects?

stupid
unless he ends up with a division rival (unlikely) , I wish the best for him..and that goes for every other extremely highly touted prospect that every comes out..its much better for the game

I would never wish for anyone to be a bust unless he ends up a Giant, Redskin, or Eagle which is very, very unlikely.

I hope he is diagnosed with cancer, falls to the Cowboys, then miraculously gets better.

What the hell is wrong with you?
Only way that happens is if he goes to a bad organization like the Raiders (wont happen no draft pick) or the Cardinals, Bengals, etc. Doubt it happens he looks like the real deal to me.

Were they? Just about everyone projected him to be the #1 pick and had him as one of the top 5 prospects. The suprise is how soon Newton has picked up the pro game

That's what they all predicted. The same echoes you're reading about RGIII now.
"Oh the spread offense."
"Oh, he runs a college offense."
"Oh, he's like Tim Tebow." <--- the most laughable.
Cam Newton is a beast. That's what R2A is saying. Everyone is predicting that Andrew Luck is going to win Super Bowls and be a Hall of Famer, already, not that he'll go #1 overall that's the easy prediction.

Did you read what he said? He just he wished cancer that's right CANCER on Andrew Luck. I don't care if it's joking you don't joke around like that. It's offensive to people like me who had an aunt that nearly died from cancer.

I've had 2 grandparents and a father just a year and a half ago die of cancer, but there was nothing serious about his comment. It was a silly way of saying I hope this impossible situation comes true so we can get ALuck, that was all.

Now I want Luck to succeed even more than I did just because this is such a stupid thread.
You want a kid to have his dream crushed so you can laugh at some so called experts?
Pathetic.

Luck has a little bit more hype, but he wouldn't be the first, first round QB to flounder.
P.s. know that henson wasn't a first rounder, but he was projected to be first overall.

I only wish the best for Luck. He is a great role model for staying in school and finishing up his collegiate career.

I hope we get Tyler Wilson and let him sit for a year or 2.

The experts are wrong a lot.
I doubt Luck will bust (5% chance maybe) but the hype is nauseating.
Of course, as far as Newton goes, I'm not sure I know what you're talking about when you they "they were all wrong" regarding him.
The guy was the first pick in the draft and and least 60% or more thought that's were he should go.
There were sevral fairly loud voices saying he shouldn't. but they were the squeeky wheels more than the norm.
I do think everyone is shocked at how he has exceeded even the expectations of those who loved him.

The only comparable would be a QB taken #1 overall and considered a can't miss. Elway was the last one that I can recall. Not even Peyton Manning was condsidered a can't miss....and maybe 30-40% of the teams thought he was not even the best in the draft. Whcih kind of proves your point.
There have been some QBs taken at the top of the draft b/c the team pickking was desperate. But they all have many, many teams who would not have taken them. Busts like Andrea Ware, David Klinger, and even the obvious one, Russell. There were plenty of naysays on thses guys.

I am just wondering what it would take to move up and get Luck? Romo has about three to four years left, and Luck could sit until he is ready, then Tony can be traded or back him up. I do believe Romo can win a SB if the line was stronger. So, most likely, we go OL and LB in the next draft.
I believe Luck will be a success and we should start thinking about a future franchise QB. I would not be opposed to giving up this year's first and next year's for him. Risk, yes, but maybe we can pull off an Aaron Rogers thing with him.

It would cost too much. The hype is so huge that you would have to sell most of two drafts to get him.
Recall that the Packers had Rodgers fall all the way to the 24th pick to them. So, no extra risk or extra cost to them at all really.
