After DeMarco Murray's 253-yard day two weeks ago, it was important to point out that it was the Rams, dude. St. Louis was right at the bottom of the league in terms of stopping the run.
Last week, Murray didn't have nearly as many opportunities, but still made the most of them. He picked up 74 yards on eight carries to up his season average to 6.9 yards per carry. The Cowboys' game plan, which got away from them so quickly, was to beat Philadelphia on the ground. The Eagles aren't a great team against the run, either, ranking 28th in yards-per-carry against.
If Murray's splash is more than a case of going against bad defenses, it'll be evident this week. The Seahawks are the league's best team in terms per-play rush defense, giving up an average of just 3.16 yards each rush...

Looking forward to the day we have a healthy Felix to pair with Murray. In the meanwhile, I'm interested in continuing to see what we have in Tanner.

I feel pretty good about Tanner and I'm certainly going to be happy to see Felix return completely healthy and ready to give us 3 solid backs, although Tanner will naturally have his snaps cut a great deal.

If Murray rushes for 100 yards against Seahawks, will people finally give him props and say he is legit or will they say its was against lowly Seahawks?

The sarcasm doesn't quite work; the Seahawks have a respectable run defense (15 or 16th in the league).
The Rams were/are dead last in the league.

We should be more concerned with ypc.

I haven't looked it up but I think I remember reading that they are 3rd.

Yet you add up the top two rushers in any game this year and no combo has even come close to just murrys production. Only vick and mccoy broke 200. Yes bad run d but also an amazing performance that is belittled by saying "it was the rams dude".

Quick question: Murray runs for 250 against the Ravens one game. The next game he runs for 250 against the Rams.
All other things considered and equal, which performance is more impressive?
If you say the Ravens performance then you're acknowledging what everyone else understands.
Two things can be equally true; it was a great performance by Murray; it was also against the porous Rams' defense.
Acknowledging one truth doesn't necessarily negate the other.

The Seahawks are currently ranked 11th best in terms of rushing yards allowed per game.
#1 in the league for YPC average (3.2).
Murray performs well against the Rams it will be a good indicator.

i love how murray gets low when contact is about to happen. I was watching the eagles game and allot of guys backed out on the tackle.
I wish our defense didn't suck so bad that game, then we would of got to see murray run rapid on the eagles.
I was watching NFL 32 and merril hodge said murray didn't have a good game vs the eagles:bang2: .....Do these analysis watch the game or even look up stats. :bang2: :bang2:
Murray only got to carry the ball about 8 times. But he ran for 74 yards and avg. 9.3 yards a carry. We was down 24-0 in a blink of an eys so why keep running merril? Murray was one of the bright spots vs the eagles.:starspin

first i didn't mean to quote you, it was meant as a quick reply. second, no need to talk down to people with the "what everyone else understands" bs. we can either talk like adults or not.
when someone says (not specifically you) that it was the rams dude...that inherently takes credit away from an impressive feat doesn't it? the statements implies that anyone could or should put up numbers like that against the rams. again, why hasn't anyone come close this year if the rams are THAT bad? i'm not saying they are good, that's obvious but yards per game can be misleading. like NE on pass D. teams have to pass. just as teams have the lead on the rams and run more. now i admit they aren't good based on yards per carry. like i said in my first post, the rams aren't good but it was an amazing performance and the statement itself detracts from murry.
