View Full Version : How Lucky are the Giants?

I have never seen a QB get so lucky just chucking balls up for grabs. The throw to Tyree in the Super Bowl is vintage Eli. Just chuck and hope for luck. Giants got a pass interference called on a throw that should never have been made(bull crap luck). Eli chucked one up earlier in the drive when he was pressured and it was almost picked. Yet we will have to hear how great he is all week long. They will compare him to Brady and act like he is elite. Makes me sick...He did make some great throws in this game but he seems to luck out too often for me to consider him elite.

As much as I hate the the Gmen you have to give them credit for going in Gillette and handling the Pats. I can't believe I'm saying it, but Eli is lights out this year. The Gmen look much better than the Boys at this point.

LUCKY!!??
I can't stand the Giants but that said, they're missing a ton of starters yet they're 6-2
We'd be *****ing and moaning if we lost anywhere near the number of players they have, yet, they went up there and won.
I also can't stand Coughlin ....but he does have his teams ready to play.

Even good teams need some luck to succeed. You achieve nothing in the NFL without being a little lucky

i think a lot of cowboys fans dont give eli enough credit, once or twice is lucky, but he has brought his team from behind to victory 5 times already just this year! i think he deserves a little credit, he is really good second tier QB

Tired of seeing Elisha just chuck it up for grabs and getting results. You shouldn't get away with those prayer throws in the NFL.

What are their big injuries? Terrell Thomas, and for this game nicks/Bradshaw.
Weve been down a starting corner and WR pretty much every week and also lost our starting rb.
Our injuries are nothing to cry about but neither are theirs.
NFC east
1. Eagles
2. Cowboys
3. Giants
4. 1998 cardinals
5. The redskins

Terrell Thomas is good, they lost him.
I've seen Corey Webster and Aaron ross playing, so...

Man it's all a part of the game... The Midgets gritted out a win, something Dallas could not do with a fairly healthy team up in New England, so my hat is off to them.

If you say so.
So New York looked MUCH better than Dallas when both played the Pats.
Alrighty....
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. In fact, it makes me wonder if you've watched much football (or at least understood what you were watching).
But take the high road and assume that you have.

Luck.
The last resort of a homer when attempting to discredit a rival.

Psh. C'mon, it wasn't luck. The only thing they were 'lucky' with was Brady playing like poo in the first 3 quarters... but really they were a big part of that.
The Pats are obviously out of rhythm after facing very good defenses recently. And let's face it... they aren't that good. Not taking away from the Giants or us for that matter, they're just not of the same caliber as Green Bay as we once thought they were. They're a playoff contender but I don't think they're the best team in the league or even AFC as they were touted to be after week 1.
The Giants may run away with this division if they pick up a win in San Fran.

I've seen Corey Webster and Aaron ross playing, so...
They lost their best corner (TT), Domenik Hixon and their first round draft pick Amukamura in the preseason-- although he's close to returning. They've had off and on injuries. Tuck was out at one point. Then Umenyioura.
But this last game, they were fairly healthy (Osi, Tuck back) but did well without their star receiver. Having Bradshaw out was kind of like us having Felix out... the back that's producing more gets to step in (Jacobs).
They've endured the injuries, I'll give them credit for that-- but the biggest difference between them and us is they had a pretty easy schedule up until this game. That's why they managed a 5-2 record (two losses being WSH, and SEA)
Can't take this game from them, though.

Sometimes you have to have a bit of luck on your side.
And beyond that I don't care what people cry about when it comes to luck for them. How lucky were they having to go into that game without their starting RB, their best WR, and 3 secondary players out from the whole season?
Give them their credit. They're winning in spite of all the issues and Eli IS playing darn good football this year.
If you can make fun of him when he sucks and throws 25 picks then you should be man enough to simply give him his due when he's playing well.

Hard to call 6-2 luck.

To the OP, you are correct. Eli is the luckiest QB I have ever seen. Now that doesn't mean that's all he has, but he does, and has thrown those ducks up on a prayer and I've never seen a team get so lucky with the PI calls and catches.
Out of all the QB's in this league I hate Eli the most, as far as a rival. It was really close when it was McNabb with Philly, but I think I still hate him more.
He is a goofy sob.
