Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo certainly heard boos from a few yahoos at Cowboys Stadium after he slid down at the two-yard line rather than try to scramble past at least three Seahawks defenders into the end zone.

"I gauged the level I could get into the end zone and it came up zero in my brain as I was running," Romo said. " I tried against the Jets. Obviously that did not turn out well at the time. I wasn't really close then. I didn't see any way to get the ball into position as they were closing on me. Obviously I will always dive for the end zone if there is a chance. The percentage was very low at that moment."

He shouldn't even have addressed this question.

This was one of the few parts of the game I caught and was unsure if they were booing Romo or booing yet another failed Redzone series.

Anyone who was booing Romo is a fool.

Heard boos behind me was disgusted. Also heard someone say bench Dez after dropping a pass in garbage time lol.

Romo may have made it had he not slid but at what cost? I would rather take the 3 than to lose my QB. Romo played smart all day long and he did the right thing on that play

I'm sure he had flashbacks of past similar situations. He did the right thing.

I thought the fans were booing because they thought their should be a flag for hitting Romo. That's a shame if they booed because he didn't dive into four defenders. . .

We need the full play up until the kick is attempted to really understand the boos. I thought the boos were directed at Garrett for not going for it when the kicker came on the field or maybe the fans thought it was a penalty on the hit made on Romo after sliding. I guess I could be wrong. The full video for that play through the next play would make it more obvious when it happened.

booing Romo has become the norm.

Here they are booing him vs Rams.

There was no chance of him scoring on that play.

You gotta pick your battles; 0-0 in the 1st QTR against the Seahawks ain't it.

that was the same formation and play that he later passed a touchdown to robinson. if maybe romo would have waited a second more he might have had austin in the same spot as robinson was. i do not fault romo for his decision to tuck and run.

At 6 seconds he is already avoiding the interior pass rush...

He should have flipped the ball to Murray before he cross the line of scrimmage.

I was hoping he could get it to Murray, who had a legit chance to score on the play.

They weren't booing Tony, they were booing another FG in the red zone.

He's not a big quarterback. Not small either, but he's what 6'2 226? You don't take the hit if you're Romo. I feel like he was going to be stuffed anyways, he's not a trucking runner. He is quick, but two guys were about to hit him at the one and I don't think he could've pushed forward. But either way it would've been an unnecessary risk from him to do so. If your quarterback is Tebow or Cam, you might expect them to do whatever it takes to get in the endzone, but when it's Tony Romo in the first quarter against the Seahawks 0-0, take your points.

I probably shouldn't even go to a Cowboys game this year. Booing Romo for something like that would just piss me off, I can about guarantee you one of two things happen if he tries to get to the end zone. 1, he gets stuffed at the one or 2, he gets stuffed at the one and they force a fumble. People would have his head if the latter happens. Romo's clearly been working on protecting the ball and in this game it really showed.

Plus, when your kicker is 20-21...Okay, I'm not going there...

They weren't booing Tony, they were booing another FG in the red zone.

That what I thought it was too.

In fact, they also booed on another failed redzone attempt which ended in three points.

Like many of us, they were frustrated over the offense's redzone struggles.

I thought the boos were a little much, but I did think Romo could have scored had he not restricted himself to a straight line. My thought was that he saw far enough in advance that he didn't have a straight shot all the way to the goalline, so why not make a cut? If he had cut to the left he had a blocker. Odds are the worst that would happen is he would still get stopped short and we would still have kicked the short FG.

Still, he did the safest thing to preserve the chance to come away with points, and given the fact that we have not had the greatest of luck with the odds lately Romo's decision was far from the worst thing that could have happened.

Romo made the right call there and I have zero issue with him sliding. It was the smart thing to do and it was the right thing to do.

I thought it was pretty clear they were booing Romo, and it's likely the same fans crucifying Romo for fumbling the ball on the goalline against the Jets trying to scramble into the endzone instead of taking the sack and the field goal.

I thought it was clear they were booing him, because you heard them get excited when he started scrambling. But either way, it was another failed attempt at a TD in the redzone, they should be booing.

Watching it with the benefit of birds eye view though, Romo has Austin wide open in the back of the endzone when he decides to run it. Obviously at that point he's made his decision, but he's a good 5+ yards from the line of scrimmage and Miles is all alone since the entire defense is worried about his scrambling.

I agree they were booing Romo, and to be honest my thought was that the only reason to run rather than trying to scramble and buy a little time for a receiver to get open is if you are damned determined to find a way score, and I didn't see that determination from Romo. That's what bothered me a bit.

Of course part of the frustration, as some have mentioned, is that it represented yet another red zone failure. If we had a pretty good track record of scoring TD's in the red zone and Romo did what he did, nobody would have thought twice about it.

Yeah, I can understand that, I think he just got spooked.

It's worth noting that on Robinson's touchdown, he basically did exactly what he didn't do on that first play, fake the run and find the guy trailing in the back of the endzone (Robinson this time since Austin was out). I'm sure it's something they saw on the pictures, but it's good to see he made that adjustment, even if we wish he'd done it the first time.
