Very good, very professional article from Charean Williams... Cool title, too. Some of the Dallas media could learn something from Williams' professional style of covering the team or news about the team.

"Murray and Jones. Jones and Murray. They'll both have their number called once Jones returns".

I hate to put words in other peoples' mouths, but it sure sounds like Witten thinks Murray should be the #1 RB.

At the very least have a big enough role to earn a break from running the scout team.

In either case, he'd be right.

Murray should get the bulk of the carries and should be the #1 guy on the depth chart at this point.

Of course, I think rewarding a player for earning something is a reasonable approach.

Ms. Williams is an outstanding sports writer believe it or not. I have a great respect for her work.

I love Felix, but I don't think the two should split carries at all. We finally found a running game and it works. Why mess it up? Why get cute and try make everyone happy?

I hope Garrett doesn't simply give both guys 10 carries and call it a day. Run Murray til he's gassed, then throw in Felix. Don't be political and make sure each guy gets a certain number of touches.

I agree... Murray is rolling, keep feeding him the rock.

Absolutely agree.

Work Felix back in by giving him Tanner's current carries. I like Tanner, but he's a still-developing player and clearly this team's #3. I think his touches should be affected before Murray's.

I agree.

And the Engels could learn a great deal about good journalism from her.

She's always been a class act.

I tend to agree also, but it really depends on what Felix does with his chances. If he's having equal or greater success running behind Fiammetta and Holland the he deserves his share. If he's not not as effective then you run Murray until he drops (figuratively speaking of course).

It doesn't matter who starts to me, just as long as Murray is the primary runner and gets the bulk of the carries. I think Garrett has this mentality as well. Surely he cannot be that blind to not see what a difference Murray has made. Notice that Garrett said Felix would have "a role" in the offense, but didn't specify that he would be the main guy either. His role will probably be the change of pace back like he has been with the Razorbacks in college while Murray as the primary guy.

Boy... I can see it coming....

… Jones and Murray sharing the load. If we lose or our running game stubbles, it will be Garrett's fault because:

• He didn't use Murray enough or feature him as 'the starter'
- or -
• He didn't use Jones enough because, afterall Murray was just a flash in the pan like Hambrick, and hasn't earned the starting role

Meanwhile, Garrett has said time and time again that who starts doesn't really matter and the team has bought into that concept. But, it doesn't matter here or to the media - because everyone is so quick to identify winners and/or losers.

I'm curious to see what happens when Felix gets back. He was running really, really hard early this season, and hit in the backfield far more often than he should have been. With Murray in, the holes on his big runs look pretty obvious. I think Felix would be easily able to exploit those, too. Possibly more able to exploit them.

The place I see Murray having a significant advantage over Felix is when it comes from turning a two yard run into a 6 yard run (and that's important enough to justify starting him, frankly).

Either way, I'm going to enjoy seeing them both play. Hopefully it gives the passing game the lift it needs to make the offense an elite unit again.

I think the perfect split between the 2 is 15-17 Murray & 10-13 for Jones. And, if they are achieving the high end of that spectrum, then that's a consistent 30 carries a game - JUST FOR THOSE 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That spells wins folks.

With all the success Murray has had I feared what fellow fans would start saying about Felix and it's pretty much what I thought they'd do.

You're right, Felix was running very hard this season and was making chicken salad out of chicken scratch with the blocking he had from the offensive line. It's no small feat that he was averaging 4.0 YPC when all of our other running backs were in the high 2.0 yard range.

I do want him to be completely healthy though. This high-ankle sprain is sort of a blessing in disguise because it allows his shoulder more time to recover too.

I agree. And I have never been a fan of RB by committee. RBs need to find their rhythm and it is difficult to do so if the have to alternate downs. Maybe a series, but even then, not the best case scenario. Ride the hot hand, it simply makes too much sense.

Dallas is fortunate to have both running backs... Murray has just been special.

She is what is called a "professional journalist". Something that is very rare in the DFW area.

And I can not wait to see Felix and DeMarco both running wild.

Even now Tanner is getting carries. How many rookie RBs have ever come in and carried the ball 25 times a game for an entire season?

Wonder who defenses would key on with both in the backfield?

I agree, let Jones be the 3rd down back.
