....CN: Let's talk about guards. We've talked about David DeCastro. I think people are of two minds with this position. They see the team drafted David Arkin and Bill Nagy. Nagy got a starting job, but it was clear in camp they needed another year to develop NFL strength. So people are wondering, ''do we really just have to be patient, and they'll be ready next year?" On the other hand, here's a David DeCastro, who you can probably plug in on day one if you can land him, and he would be better than anybody you already have on your roster.
You said this is a deep class. Are there other guards you can project to come in and contribute, maybe not on day one, but in year one?
WB: [Kelechi] Osmele, from Iowa State. He's 6'5'', 340-350. He plays left tackle there. He's got good enough range. And when he gets his hands on you, the battle is over. He's a strong kid. He can bend. At times in the run game will get overextended. I don't know if that's because he has to play more in space. He'll get upright then, and not have the same push. But he locks on, and you can't disengage....
