.....assuming a Howard for a 2nd goes through, a draft of Johnson, Clayton and depth at NT, RB and FS?
.....or assuming a Howard deal does not go through a draft of Erasmus James or Dan Cody at 11, trade down to late 1 for Josh Burnett and either WR Mathis or FS Bullocks at 42 plus depth?

I give us about a 3% chance of winning the SB. That compairs to the 20% chance I give the Pats (theirs would be higher except they lost both their coordinators). I give the Steelers about a 25% and the colts about the same, the Broncos get about a 15% chance. The Viks, Panthers, Seahawks, Packers get about a 8% chance and the Eagles get a ZERO chance because they have McNabb and his dry heaves (but about a 10% chance of getting back there before losing again).

Were gunna be better, but to expect a SB win next year is a bit optomistic. I say in 2-3 years we will be favorites to get there and then win it. But not this year. It would be nice, sorta get one back that Pitt took away from us in the 70's, if we can win one next year. I will say Never say it cant happen, ya just never know in this league of mediocracy.

I'd say the Cowboys chances would go from terrible to a little less terrible.

I think we can win it all...
For Cowboyz fans, if u don't believe we can win it all, names me the games u think we will lose or the teams that will beat us in the playoffs.

Without wanting to be too negative, there's very little chance of winning a Superbowl while Bledsoe is leading the offense. Realistically, all he does is give us a chance to develop our next franchise QB, without suffering through a bunch of 10 win seasons in the process.

I say hell yeah!
Realistically, it doesn't seem that it will be that hard to get to the playoffs. Minnesota trading Moss to the AFC is extremely beneficial for everyone in the NFC. They were atrocious without him. So outside of Philly, who in the NFC is definitively better than us? Atlanta, maybe. I see a bunch of teams beside us and only one team truly in front of us.
Just get to the Super Bowl. Once there, anything can happen and I'll put Parcells up there against anybody in the AFC. The Pats have lost a lot this year. The Colts will toss aside Edgerrin James. I don't see any invincible teams.

At this moment in time I would give us about 1% chance to win a SB.
We began FA with a flourish and quickly plugged 4 holes. We have at the very least 4 very important holes we still have not solidified, RDE, FS, LB, deep threat WR.
If we had finished the deal on D I would be feeling a whole lot better about our chances. Before we are going anywhere we must get a pass rush which would help our pass D especially the young LBs and FS.
Give me passs rush and I'll give us ....... Well maybe a 3% chance.

I give us a 57% chance to make the playoffs. . .
And a 7% chance to win the SB.

I voted hopeful, because I am hopeful every year.
But we desperately need a pass rush to make our defense anything more than novelty...
Is there a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the NFC other than Philadelphia? Atlanta, I suppose.
It's hard to even find six quality playoff-caliber teams, to be honest.

Give me Darren Howard for our 2nd, a healthy Rivera, Mike Williams at 11, trade down from 20 for a second and third, get Bullocks at FS in the second and LB Jonathan Goddard in the 3rd and I'm liking our chances just fine...

Thanks for the replies. BTW, I voted "I like our chances". I said that because I think we're already 2-3 games better than last year and I think we have a great chance to grab some additional help in the draft. Some things need to fall our way but that was what the original poll assumed. To have a real chance to win "the tournament" as BP calls it, you need around a 12-4 regular season to get a bye (not mandatory but it helps). Right now that's a big stretch BUT I have a good feeling about this draft, I don't know why. With the right additions we've got a legitimate shot.

Consider Carolina a legit contender, I really like what they have done. But you are right, there are teams making the playoffs that simply don't deserve to be there. That is one reason I like our chances a little better. We still have a huge hurdle in front of us in Philly.
