Jerry:Says alot of confidence to step in there at kick at end of game like that but if i had been calling plays I would have had him in on 3rd down if something happened but it shows confidence the team has in bailey.

Jerry:no not at all having to call jason garrett in and ask what your doing in a situation like that on kicking last field goal situation, i have confidence in jason and what he does and calls. Its the confidence we have and i do know some coaches that give you 2 shots at that (kick).

Jerry:not saying im not buying into whatyour saying on our coverages on returns but we didnt want to kick to them after we kicked.

Jerry:were going to stay as we are with mcbrair, its a nerve, but he is best option we have right now.

Jerry, jenkins and austin back yes i think, but kitna back no and probably not on fiammaeta. It shouldnt be cloak and mystique but its hard for him to do some things without nausaea, so is under care of evaluation, and rigtht now he cant function. Again, its not bone related or soft tissue, its internal so were checking on them.

Jerry:im pleased with that win and we do and should have respect for miami, but uh, we got some turnovers and made mistakes and those 4 offsides and key dropped passes, so easy toi see why you got trouble but give miami credit to because no one had scored on them last 3 games.

Jerry:its important to know that robinson wasnt overlooked in the draft, had injury history and tony has got confident in him, and he extends the play in how its drawn up so its obvious why tony looiks at him and good at being there, and wr will tell you big part of their job is to get qb attention.

Jerry:i do have confidence in romo, week before he passed over that to get abigger play, wisdom will tell you to get what you can paraphrasing here, but he does have a good feel where we are in the ball game and have kind of plays to finish and tony gives us best shot to get to the top.

Jerry:thought we uh, if you look at 4 or 5 big plays is what rob works to have out nad game plan, and we had that. One time we had a terrible officiating job i have ever since on elam, but bottom line your going to have that kind of call, even was terrible in review, its a must though with those penalities to get those fixed and not have.

Jerry: you know he carries his game mentally and cmpetitevely, but were all human beings and we have to have sound judgement paraphrasing here, like when gurode got his face stepped on and haynesworth got fined and suspended and im sure there will be preconcussions. We would be answering this call from nfl and answering like i am with you now but glad i dont have to make that call if suh was a cowboy player.

Jerry:i just goina say we were at arizona and they beat us when jason was head coach his first yr out at arizona and head coach came up and told us your talent is exceptional after game over and i have that in my mind to win this game with our talent, im excited about our fans and its going to be rocking with our 2 regular home season games. Jerry gave credit here to our fans being loud yesterday, Hint cowboys fans keep it loud like that our next 2 home games and we have a chance for playoffs because it helps to get opposing teams offsides etc with penalities like dolphins did yesterday.

Yeah and if he had done that and the Dolphins got the ball back and returned it for a touchdown or close enough for a field goal or one throw away from a field goal and the Cowboys lost, I am sure he and everyone would be saying, "I would have run more time off the clock."

Jerry Jones is a marketing genius... he is a football idiot. "If I had been calling the plays".

Thank God you don't.

I'm telling you, I don't know the explanation for it, I don't know what it means, but he has become more and more vocal in his "coaching" comments as this season has gone forward.

I really wonder if the media isn't feeding his personal delusion by asking things like "do you need to call Jason in", instead of assuming it would be the stupidity that that would actually represent.

from what i hear from jerry jones in conversation he doesnt want to go there, but the announcers are you know, trying to make a story, which to me they shouldnt go there with those type of questions, i put that on the announcers asking the questions but jerry at same time is quick to say that he trusts jason garrett and believes in him

That may be true, Joe, but the other side of that is that Jerry could have easily responded to the question that he trusts Garrett and believes in him right from the start without ever commenting on what he would have done.

Jerry should know by now that based on his past history of sharing/stealing limelight with the coaches, the media desperately wants to find any crack in the Jones-Garrett relationship to exploit.

The media has learned they can ask him "what would YOU do?" and he assumes they want his opinion as if they asked anyone else. The problem Jerry has is that he fails to understand that even if it is his opinion and in no way is he upset or disappointed with Garrett, the fact he is the Cowboys owner, president and general manager means that it will be treated as a public comment and complaint against Garrett.

totally agree on that reality but you know how jerry likes the limelight and the media tries to find a earth shatering story

i admit im not much a writer, but i think i could come up with better stories than some media writers sometimes

for example kicker bailey, thats a big time story just begging to be written from bailey's youth to now etc

then you got murray who might possibly shatter tony dorsett's rookie career stats

then you have ben bloom in background with the linebackers coach that is quietly making a name for himself

then the illness on flaemmaetta, what is it, why hasnt it been found, is it a rare disease or an inner ear infection labeled something a fan wrote about on this board

then you have youngster tyron smith at just 20 years old holding up fairly well at ROT

then what are the cowboys going to do at QB since looks like kitna cant play, draft a future qb even behind mcgee? and only go with romo and hardly experiennced qb in mcgee

then you have all the penalities creeping up and problems on special teams, why are penalities back up to a high number-is it the players, the coaches, the new cba rules where you cant be in pads but so many weeks during the season

then you have mcbrair who might be getting close to finished with his nerve problem so are the cowboys already looking at another australian punter, keep im mind since we did that, a few other teams have gone out and gotten some australian or smilar type punters

You're right, but I don't care and don't think Cowboys fans should either. No problem with Jerry expressing his view on a decision of Garett's that he sees the other way, as long as he follows it up with a backing of Garrett's decision.

And I don't kill Jones for contemplating the kick on 3rd down. We we're all counting the secs to see if it made sense. Once I realized how many would be left, I knew running a 3rd down play and taking one shot with 4 secs left was the best percentage call.

But that leads to a good questions. If you have two TOs left and an opportunity to control the clock..........do you run it down to 10 secs call TO and kick on 3rd down? Now you know Romo can fall on a bad snap, call TO and still have one shot left.

But of course now you're kicking off to them with 5 secs left.

Your not seeing things....Jerry has been more vocal this year and at times really stretches that line he shouldn't cross. But Jerry knows Garrett is new young head coach...and Jerry has the authority and feels certain level of comfort in exploiting that fine line. Now if Garrett were to achieve some playoff success....that line gets moved back to where it should be....Garrett shouldn't be second guessed and most importantly....Jones opinion is largely irrelevant when compared to real football mind in Garrett.
