The Eagles were hyped as a Super Bowl team before the season. Instead, they’re losers. And Philadelphia fans are taking out their frustration on head coach Andy Reid.

As the Patriots throttle the Eagles today in Philadelphia, chants of “Fire Andy” have been heard at Lincoln Financial Field.

They just asked Jason Kelce whether the players heard those chants and he said it would have been hard not to hear it.

He won't be out of work long if they do, but they almost have to.

The era of Eagles dominance of the NFC East is officially over.

I'd hire him in an instant if he was a fit here. I'm not sure what they will do but he has to be worried.

I hope he stays, but he may resign and take a tv gig for a year. Then you will see an actual personality that he has. You don't see it during press conferences.

note: if/when they get an 8th loss, then I will be happy. :)

Im not the least bit surprised E-Gal fans are calling for his firing. After all the 'Dream Team' hype that went foul, its time for them to turn on themselves.

I grew up in Central PA and watched their roller coaster love hate relationships with players and coaches for decades. I knew the 'loopty loop' of the roller coaster ride was coming soon. The fans had their hopes of getting to the Big Show and winning it for once. At this point, they know its not gonna happen and will now point fingers and demand a change. :enough:

Face it, Philly fans love hating on others. Its in their blood. They NEED someone to hate and now that the Dream Team has let them down AGAIN, they want revenge.

So much for the city of brotherly love and their Dream Team........ :muttley:

I hope they fire him. They were bad before he got there and they've been pretty consistently good since he got there. If they fire him, they are in re-building mode and will be bad again.

I knew they were chanting something, but I couldn't hear clearly. WIP should be a great listen. Andy Reid's run is over. They're 1-5 at home this season, and have lost 8 of their last 9 at the Linc. Jeffery Lurie didn't look to happy to see his stadium 80 percent empty with about 12 minutes to go in the game. Nothing pleases me more than wacthing those loser fans suffer another year without a super bowl. I'm loving every second of their Demise.

Going back to last year, they've now lost 8 of their last 9 home games.

I don't want to talk about the game they won.

It basically has been since Jim Johnson became ill. They perpetually had great defenses under his guidance - he was one of the great DCs of alll-time. He was up there with Lebeau, Kiffin, Capers, Belichek, Rex Ryan, Ron Rivera and Marvin Lewis.

I actually think we have the best coordinator right now in the division although many here will disagree and that will be a great advantage for us going forward.

Pfft. If you think people get on Garrett for not running the football, Andy would be lynched here.

Reid looks done to me. The decision to promote an OL coach to DC (with predictable results) is rightfully a fire-able offense. Reid has a Jerry-like need to prove himself the smartest guy in the room, and I wouldn't want him here at all.

If you add them closing out last year on a 3 game losing streak, they are 4-11. Their problems started before this year.

I don't know if Andy is definitely out though. They've got a unique power structure in Philly. Reid's actually got more stroke than the GM. He pretty much runs that entire organization.

They just signed Vick to a boatload of years and money. I don't know if they want to give up on Reid and hope the new coach can work with Vick.

My theory is they were coming off of a bye and that was their Super Bowl. Once they won that, they've been flat ever since.

Still no excuse for how easy we made it for them though.

In fairness they manhandled the Giants last week. But I don't think the Giants are that good anyway, and the Patriots stomped out what little fire the Eagles D had going from that game with their first drive.

Reid did most of his damage in the years when the NFC East coaches were Campo, Spurrier and Fassel. And he still didn't do that hot against Fassel. If you look at his record versus .500+ teams, it has been abysmal. He tears up sub .500 teams. Some say 'that's what good teams do' but not quite like Reid does which translates to a style of game that works well against poor teams, but has issues against good teams.

He's also never been able to find that replacement for Jim Johnson...something Garrett should keep in mind when Rob Ryan leaves.

I don't think Reid is a bad coach, but he has some serious flaws and he's not quite the great coach that people make him out to be.

I dunno, pal, Reid looks an awful lot like the captain of the Titanic these days... IOW, when you coach a team widely expected to be a Super Bowl contender to a 4-7 record, perhaps you deserve to lose your job...

If I were an Eagle fan, and I heard my home crowd turning on our most respected coach before he had a chance to bring home that first Superbowl trophy, I'd be so mad, I'd probably make myself vomit on a little girl in the stands.

Eh, i don't know if the super bowl expectations were fair though, that's my only problem. I think Reid is a very good coach, but he does have his flaws like all coaches do. However, they went out and signed so many new "star" players this offseason, any coach would have his work cut out for him trying to mesh all those personalities together and find chemistry right off the bat with so many new guys. It's just another example of how you can't buy championships.

He's been a very good head coach but the decision to make the OL coach the defensive coordinator this year without even an offseason of preparation is on him.

IMO, that is what's really costing that team this year and it was nobody's decision but Andy's.

And I'll be thrilled when they do. That will be a great day when the eagles are stupid enough to get rid of Andy Reid.

They did it with McNabb last year and all the fools just drank the hell out of the koolaid of the over-rated and now extremely over-paid Michael Vick.

McNabb being run out was step one and now, hopefully, at the end of this season we'll see them run out the last good thing that they had from their team that has been dominating the NFC East for a decade.

The problem with that is Vick is an infinitely better QB today than McNabb.

Heck, I'd rather have Vince Young over McNabb right now.

Maybe right now. I am talking about how they wanted to run McNabb out of there for the last 2-4 years he was there. Now they got their wish, thought Vick was some great savior, and he's simply not.

Vick is, was, always has been, and always will be an insanely over-rated and over thought of QB. He's a great athlete who has his moments of brilliance but on a consistent basis he's not a QB whose going to take you anywhere, at all. Very much like Vince Young, although I would agree that Vick is better than Young.

I'm just glad that Philly fans will be getting their wish and running the guys out the most responsible for them even being relevant for the last decade.

Further proof that this is a "what have you done for me lately?"" business. Did the fans find it inconceivable or shameful to lose to a a very good Pats team? I guess that win over the Gmen went to their heads.

No doubt that's on Andy. That move really backfired. Awful mistake on Reid's part.
