This is a great story and it's always great to hear stories of rescue. I saw it on the news, but that is a lot more footage than they played during the story.

I can't remember, but I know some of them are permanently injured from the testing. At least I remember them saying that in the story they had on TV about them.

Family pet growing up was a Beagle. Great story.

When I was a kid in El Paso (we're talking the mid 60s), my Dad bred beagles... great dogs, funny, friendly and energetic... only bad thing about them was their bark, how such a small animal could make so much noise I'll never know...

#10 for sure. It's the most difficult thing but you really have to be there unless you are out of town or incapacitated.

Haha, yeah no kidding. Hounds have some pipes on them, people think of Beagles as these cute dogs from the movies but they are bred to do real work outdoors like most hounds, they aren't really lap dogs.

#10 for sure. It's the most difficult thing but you really have to be there unless you are out of town or incapacitated.

One of the hardest things I ever did was put down my first dog Thunder after 16 years, but I'm glad I did the right thing... he was relaxed and at ease right up to the time his lights went out...

Then I cried... then the next day, I went down to the pound and got Bear...

My Dad used his to hunt rabbits... one of them, Prince Barbarossa, was an AKC field champion... that dog's chest was so deep it barely cleared the ground, and my Dad swore that he could run forever...

Dad loved to tell a story about Prince; he was a really good shot, but on this day Prince jumped a big ol' jackrabbit, and ran him around Dad, who fired, but missed... no problem, Prince chased him around in a big circle, and when he brought the rabbit back around, Dad fired again, and missed again... so off goes Prince for a third lap, he got Dad a third shot (he'd had time to reload his double-barrel Parker), and Dad missed again...

At that point, he claims that Prince sat down and looked at him with a look that seemed to say "are we here to hunt, or just screw around??"
