As a result, it seems natural that they’d have vested interest in watching tonight’s Giants-Saints game. A New Orleans win would give the Cowboys a full game lead over the Giants in the two-team race for the division title.

well we can tell that spears and spencer certainly arent watching film too much on their own, this would be a great opportunity to watch the game, see what tips you can see out of the game, because you have to play the giants twice and you may have to play the saints in the playoffs
I actually Spears and Spencer's response. Shows they're focused on what they can control and not on something they can't.

Not sure I follow you, joe. How can we tell Spears and Spencer aren't watching film from this?

to me would be real wise to watch this game tonight, you might get a clue on upcoming game we might have, especially with the giants, i understand the part about controlling your own destiny, but they did a film segment on espn, hidden flim study that players have to realize time is needed for them to spend on their own time. Kinda like years ago, when darren woodson was here and after practice he caught safety roy williams trying to sneak out the back door, woodson grabbed him by the shirt collar and made him sit down and do film study
thats another reason why sean lee is basically telling even bradie james where to line up in coverages and other players, film study on his own, i think jason garrett said one time, when lots of players are gone and some coaches, late at night sean lee is in the buiding doing film study like jason garrett did years ago with the giants as a player
and if you remember in the bush blown coverage, spencer was the player that blew the coverage from what i heard, not enough film study

Dallas only needs to worry about their upcoming opponent, the Cardinals.

Broadcast film is not that useful. It is really hard to see exact depth and spacing on the field at the angle broadcast shows. Yes occasionally you will get the angle from behind the formation but 90% of the game is seen in the side scrolling angle. I am quit sure the NFL provides the Whole 22 angle to coaches and teams which is the most important angle for game planning.

first the game on TV is nowhere near useful to a player. Second I don't want them watching film of any team other than the cardinals this week. I don't care if we play the giants 4 straight weeks, the only team the cowboys should be watching or caring about is the cardinals.

i like it.
Seems like all eyes, mind and engery is spent on focusing on the cardinals. We need not to overlook any and i mean any teams in the nfl.

Or do you mean game film? 22 film? Broken down with notes to actually study?
If you answer that you meant the 2nd paragraph what does it tell you about your idea of watching tonight's game to "learn something?"

It's good to see they are focusing on the Cardinals instead of the MNF game. The Giants can win tonight if the Cowboys take care of business it won't matter.

Both, like guy said above you get very little from tv broadcast, but keep in mind i saw at texas stadium why charie waters was missing field goals, and remember the time i let you know about T O dropping his arms when slowing down on a route Hos? How about the time i called your attention to angle beuhler was kicking the football, more of an angle long distances and shorter angle on shorter distances and you know what you did for cowboys
you can see things now and then, its all about what the tv camera man might focus on
like for instance years ago a fan noticed in washington cowboys game robert newhouse was unbuckling his chin strap when he went out on passes only and jack pardee was hollering pass, pass, and tex thanked the fan, but that fan wasnt me
granted i want the players to focus solely on cardinals, but tonight is most likely their time off while game is on between giants and saints, those players may pick up a tidbit or 2 because you never know
if you get my drift

i agree with that, but you might play one of them in the playoffs and you might not see that formation or whatever till you play them in game tonight so to me its worthwhile to look at
because to me if sensabaugh can look at the game tonight, so should spears and spencer, remember now it was spencer that blew the coverage on bush out of the backfield for a big pass and boy, rob ryan was livid
this is the time of year to me, you sacrifice your time to view all tape and stuff you can taking one game at a time sure, but gearing up for playoffs possibly taking little notes on your own, so when you go into film room against those teams you can ask questions or say i saw this, remember your only alllowed to view what 3 tapes of that team your going to play, so that game you saw on tv might not be the 3 game tapes film your allowed to view, but you saw something in that game tonight, and ready for it when you play those teams,

I like it.. I like the response in this thread..
There's only one team that should be the focus this week and that's the Cardinals. If the Cowboys are doing this... fantastic..
One week at a time..
