I know he feasted on a handful after the first TD but I think he had a another handful on the field BEFORE his second TD.
I think it's funny he munches on skittles while playing. I know it's a superstitious thing but still just seem hilarious he'd have the guy bring the bag out onto the field.

Yep. Skittles also already said they were going to give him a year supply. How many Skittle can one eat in a year? haha

I thought this was funny too. He had a designated skittles guy giving him some after the TD like he was a child lol.

That's hypoglycemia. Diabetics need insulin to control their sugar.

Didn't the announcers say that was something his Mom started back when he was in high school or something. Before every game she gave him some skittles and he eats some after every TD..
Whatever works.. *shrug*

SEATTLE, Wash. -- In a game where the Seattle Seahawks beat the tar out of the Philadelphia Eagles to the tune of a 31-14 score and ran for 178 yards on 33 carries in the process, Marshawn Lynch's(notes) 15-yard touchdown run with 9:19 remaining in the first quarter may have been the definitive play. It typified the way Lynch has been running over the last month — as physically as any back in the NFL — and it's why he finished with 148 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Why he was chowing down on Skittles after the play -- especially when he had an upset stomach -- was a different story. Lynch has said that his mom used to feed him the candy in high school, and the tradition has continued to his day. Touchdown? Skittles. That's not something you normally see during an NFL game.
Running back Justin Forsett(notes), Lynch's teammate going all the way back to their days together at Cal, said hypothesized after the game that Lynch may indeed derive some kind of mystical power from the candy, and that an endorsement deal would be the only fair gesture in return.
Good news, America -- according to Darren Rovell of CNBC, the Skittles people have offered Lynch a two-year supply of the candy and a custom dispenser for his locker as a gesture of gratitude for all the product placement.

Diabetics have hypoglycemic issues as well.
That's why some carry glucose tablets.

I'm not a doctor, so I should've searched on it before commenting I suppose, that was just my understanding of it based on what I know and the people I've known who are diabetic.

I'm no expert either. A childhood friend of mine had to carry glucose tablets.
It might be more common with type 1, I'm not totally sure.

Diabetes Mellitus (type I or II) both are conditions in which patients have high blood sugars due to either insufficient insulin production, insufficient insulin receptor sensitivity or both.
In both conditions medications are used to lower sugar. If too much medication is taken relative to the amount of food and amount of exercise the person engages in they may develop low blood sugar. If the blood sugar is low enough the person may become confused, lethargic and even comatose.
As a hospital worker, I have treated people on the ward who are in a coma due to extremely low blood sugar. In severe cases we insert an IV line and give them a direct injection of blood glucose (called D50W). Within a couple of seconds the patient goes from a complete coma to awake and answering your questions. It is truly one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen. I know one colleague who had a patient who went into a coma from hypoglycemia in the middle of a sentence, got a shot of glucose, woke up and continued on with their sentence.

I used to eat Skittles and Sunflower Seeds when I played as well. I had the trainers keep them in their bags and would grab some out during the game when I'd come off the field.
Nice to know I'm not the only person weird enough to do it lol

Someone should send Lynch a link to the youtube video "newlyweds skittles". NSFW, and it give a whole new meaning to "taste the rainbow."

Doesn't look very good though, somebody needs to introduce him to Johnny.

My wife is diabetic. If her blood sugar drops, she needs sugar. I know what I'm talking about.
