I saw the PROLOGUE in LA Thursday night and it's totally awesome (http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDKRises_news_Prologue-world-premiere_11-9-11.html). If you've got an IMAX near you that screens in 70mm, it's worth seeing. It's showing in front of MI: GHOST PROTOCOL.

I've been thinking and saying this for a while before this comes out, Bruce Wayne is going to die in this movie.

Nolan and Bale have said they aren't doing anymore movies after this. Bane is the villain, who's famous for breaking Batman's back. It's just the natural evolution of the character from the first to this movie. The overall theme that Batman is an idea, not a man.

"The Dark Knight Rises" will be someone else rising as Batman.

Nah, I think he'll be knocked out for a while with a broken back....with the hole Bane back breaking bit. Bane will take over and Batman will come back later on and retake the city.

So the movie starts 8 years after the last one. My guess is that Bane eventually shows up and immediately breaks Batman's back. Batman goes into hiding. Bane creates chaos in the city, essentially taking it over. This forces Bruce to find a way to heal his back (Lazarus Pit), he comes back and "rises" and defeats Bane. Everyone rejoices. People live in peace and harmony. The end. But they set it up to allow JGL to take over as Batman. If the movie blows it out of the water and people are clamoring for JGL as Batman, he can take it over with a new director. The beat goes on....
