That's weird... I didn't even realize centers could have numbers in the 50s... I guess Rivera paid up for that #62. :D

Now one of our new linebackers will have to get 90s numbers. :

Wonder why Henry didn't want #37 like he had in Cleveland?

And like tothewhip said, what was once Drew Pearson and Tony Hill is now Brett Pierce and Sean Ryan. :(

A couple of others that aren't too new but that I didn't realize until recently: Peterman is now #72, as he was in college. And Bickerstaff took Jamar's old #34.

Yeah, but in all likelihood, #88 goes to a WR that we draft in 1st or 2nd rd. Kinda like when Robinson was #88.

Some of you guys forget Jackie Harris the TE we had in 00-01, wore #88 right after Irvin. And Mark Stepnoski wore #53 with us, so centers have worn 50s before.

If Peterman is 72, what the hell is Ferguson wearing?

says Ferguson is wearing no. 66, if we pick up Derrick Johnson he can't even have no. 11 due to Drew Bledsoe

The NFL doesn't allow linebackers to wear numbers in the teens. He'll have to pick one in the 50s or 90s.

I know the whole deal to the dilio or whatever, but it was a joke adam but calm down it was a joke....... :D

We know the rules or laws and some don't but I think this thread was a joke to make us laugh and lighten the mood a little

Receivers can wear numbers in the teens. Linebackers can't.

I think this (http://rjccourt85.tripod.com/jerseys.html) may explain it a little better. It shows the alternate numbers available to positions as well. Centers have been in the 50's pretty much from the beginning of the numbering system. Plus anybody labeled a "specialist" can wear #'s in the teens.

There are only 4 sacred numbers #8 #12 #22 #33. I know Bell wore #33 a couple years ago, but that better not happen again. #54 and #88 should not be worn, but they will because they are common numbers and because of so many people going to training camp.

Henry's physical stlye reminds Parcells of Marcus Coleman. Now he has the number to match.

You are forgetting about #74... Legend has it that when Tex left the Cowboys he made Jerry promise that he would never issue two numbers out to anyone in the regular season... #12 and #74. I think all the other numbers are fair game to Jerry though, I don't think he really holds numbers in high regard as to who they "belong" to. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone wearing #22 here in a few years.

Nate Jones wore #33 this year.

How many people wore #88 anyways? Jackie Harris, Jeff Robinson, Antonio Bryant, now Brett Pierce (who shouldn't make the squad anyways).

Now Drew Bledsoe wears #11. Hopefully he'll not embarass the number.

There are far more than 4 sacred numbers. You know there were more great Cowboys before the 90's than Roger.
