If you're familiar with WoW, you won't be surprised by the general gameplay in most regards. If you're familiar with Mass Effect, you know how the story is delivered, with the same dialogue wheel and voiced characters.

I'm a level 25 Jedi Guardian. It's so terrific. During peak times, there were queues on most all of the servers, but that was intentional. Bioware put lower population caps on the servers so that people who weren't already on those servers but were newly getting in would be deterred from rolling there, and would go to one of the ones that was lower pop.
I'm sure there are still going to be queues at launch, because hell, there were 2 million people that did the stress test, but it may not be as bad as some think. I'm sure they have more servers ready to open up as needed as well. The pre-launch has been amazingly stable. I haven't had so much as a single disconnect.

They are supposedly adding 50+ servers tonight.
I find that very hard to believe. Installing 50 server clusters would require a huge undertaking and would be nearly impossible to prepare and thoroughly test in one day's time. Most people have no idea that each "server" in most large MMORPGs are actually clusters of multiple servers rather than one single server. Now if they already have 50 servers installed and tested, I could see that and you would have to believe they already have a lot of servers ready to go for public launch.
However, that being said, Bioware has already come out and stated they will add servers conservatively because they do not want to add too many servers and be forced to prematurely merge low population servers soon after launch. The initial rush and demand will not be an accurate way to calculate how many servers you need since everyone will be trying to login and play at the same time. It's like if everyone went to the store and bought one bottle of Coke .. most of the people would not find a Coke waiting on them when they got there simply because the stores stock them based on normal average demand, not surge/rush demand.
I suspect you will see a lot more servers go live by tomorrow's public launch but I doubt very seriously it will be enough to remove the login queues. They will likely reassess their population and server demand each day after launch for the first couple of weeks and add servers as needed.

Tonight, we are bringing the servers down for maintenance as we prepare for launch, as previously mentioned. Both the game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline from 6PM CST (4PM PST/7PM EST/12AM GMT/1AM CET) to 11PM CST (9PM PST/12AM EST/5AM GMT/6AM CET).
As well as bringing the existing game servers back online, from 11PM CST onwards we'll be bringing up a large number of new servers, spread across all three of our server locations (US West Coast, US East Coast and Europe). As always, every server is open and available to anyone playing - just select your preferred location (US / Europe) from the tab at the bottom of the server select screen.

Bioware's Stephen Reid: "You'll see more servers coming online tomorrow, and almost certainly there will be some queuing. That was always expected. As a reminder, our plan here is to maintain healthy server populations post launch, and during the excitement of launch that will mean queues. That said, we'll be working hard to keep those queues reasonable."
