PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh coach Todd Graham is leaving the Panthers to take the same position at Arizona State.
Graham will replace Dennis Erickson, who was dismissed following a 6-6 season in which the Sun Devils dropped their final four games.
================
As a WVU fan I loath all things Pitt however I have to say I feel sorry for those players.
Wanny gets fired, the hire another HC, the new HC gets fired after he is gets arrested for domestic abuse (think that was the charge), they hire Todd Graham and now he leaves after one year.

Only think less gutless would have been to send them a tweet.

As long as he wins here! :)
I agree, he probably should have at least called each player or something but he got hired today and then they had a news conference on the hiring today, flying all the way from wherever he was, Texas, Pitt, wherever...
He didn't have time to set up a meeting and what not.
ASU flubbed up their coaching search so bad and fell behind everyone, they lost their top 2 recruiters to UCLA (Klemm and Broussard) because they didn't have a coach, they needed to get this done ASAP and that's what they did.

I really don't have a problem with ASU in this whole thing.
It is with the coach.

I think texting was the way to go. Kids don't have much of an attention span nowadays.

I don't know what is behind the texting of players, (and if it is something as bad as you guys are making it out to be) A lot of times people get sour grapes and just want to ***** about it. Either way, the guy is a good coach. When he left the Cowboys (D line coach), there was a HUGE drop off in play on the d-line that has never been corrected since he left.

Sometimes it is hard to do the right thing. This was one of those times. It would have been hard to face those kids, and tell them that you were leaving after one season, ... but he should have stood up like a man and done the right thing.
He failed miserably.
Like BP, I hate all things Pittsburgh, .. but what a sad lesson for those kids to learn.

I know that. And I am saying that he really had no choice. If he wanted the job with ASU, he had to get on the plane to ASU to continue the negotiations and be introduced that day because trust me on this, boosters and fans here were getting pretty upset about ASU taking as long as they did to find a coach.

Oh, he had a choice, ... and he made his choice.
Now he has to live with it.
Someday, somewhere down the line, he will run into one of his Pitt players.
The kid will by then have become a man, and when they meet man to man, ... that's when he will regret this decision.

Bastards at ASU stole my school's head coach to be an assistant. You suck.

Not funny to me.
And trust me, it will happen, someday he will run into one of those kids that he did this to.
I have coached for years and years, and there is nothing better than seeing one of your players years later. They come up to you, shake your hand or give you a hug. You laugh and talk.
I can't imagine how awkward and embarassing it will be for Graham when he runs into one of his Pitt players in the future.
Not sure what you found so funny, it's sad really.
I'm guessing you are only taking up for Graham, someone you don't really even know, because he is the new of your team.
Shallow.

Get off your high horse.
This is a business just like everything else. Business people make business decisions not only for themselves but for the ones they hold dearest.
He did what he thought was best for him and his family and made his decision. Get over it.

No problem with his decision to change jobs, .. the decision not to tell his players face to face was the cowardly thing to do.
He probably already wishes he had handled that with more integrity.
If the 'high horse' is, .. "do what is right even when it is hard to do", then I will stay on it.
