per ESPN's Screamin' A. Smith, but he does have contact with players on a pretty regular basis.

Kobe gave an interview a few days ago about Lamar Odom being traded and he openly admitted that he was "pissed off."

Smith expects Kobe to ask for a trade.

SAS is a joke. :laugh2:

Kobe isn't happy, but he's already said he trusts management to put together a contender. Unlike most Laker fans I don't think the sky is falling because we didn't land Paul. We still have Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum which is as good as any trio outside of the 3 amigos in Miami. If we can just put the right pieces around them we'll be fine.

Good! The more bad stuff that happens to Kobe the better. I can't freaking stand him or the Hollywood Lakers.

I think the best thing to happen to the Lakers was not getting Paul, to be honest.

Somebody explain to him that he's a player.

Yup trading an elite big (Gasol) for an elite small who has knee issues is a big no no.

I agree. I NEVER liked Kobe. I respect his talents, but I hope the Lakers never win another championship while he's on the team. I can't stand that glory-seeking ballhog, cheap imitation of MJ. And his "best closer in the game" acclaim has been statistically proven to be a pure myth.

He's a ball hog yet he averages 5 apg. :laugh2:

Gotta love Kobe haters.

They're generally way off base.

Kobe is a complete basketball player.

Shaq doesn't like Kobe but I know at the end of a game, I want the ball in Kobe's hands.

Kobe has the skill set to do twice that easily.

It's very difficult to do that in the triangle. Now that we're not running that anymore I expect his assists to go up. I'll admit Kobe can take some pretty bad shots sometimes, but more often he has to cuz no on else is doing anything. One thing is for sure he's not a ball hog.

Other than Game 7 against the Celtics in their 2nd Finals win, Kobe's had the team on his back.

I can't stand the Lakers, or Kobe for that matter, but if anyone is honestly trying to make the claim that they'd rather see someone on the Lakers taking the shots, especially the big shots, they're crazy.

There is absolutely no one on the Lakers, and very few league wide, if any, that you want taking the big shots over Kobe.

You can not like the guy, and I don't blame people for it, but let's not be just plain stupid about it. The guy is an amazing ball player, a complete ball player, and has been for a very long time.

I hate Kobe and the Lakers but that guy is a Boss.

I mean, his swag is on official.

And by that I mean, all he knows is bottles n rockin' J's.

Understand?

I'm a huge Kobe fan but if he wants to be traded, I would send him to Orland with picks in exchange for Howard and then move Bynum for a good PG. Kobe signed his contract and now he needs to play but if he's more interested in creating a problem, then he needs to be moved.

I think that this is just Stephen A. Smith making stuff up, to be honest. That's why I was sure to include his name in the OP.

Anybody who follows the Phoenix Suns can attest the the greatness of Kobe. I don't particularly like him, but watching him compete with that Suns offense from a couple years ago 1v5, shot for shot, was as entertaining as sports get.

If Kobe wanted to be traded he would want to go to a contender not a team that's rebuilding. I personally believe the current team can contend if Kupchack puts the right pieces around Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum. If they can acquire a solid point guard they'll be in solid shape. Kobe has a really toxic contract so it makes him untradeable. Laker fans everywhere would be furious with him if he did (Not me cuz if he did so it's because the Lakers FO isn't doing it's job. I'd be furious with them not KB) because after the Lakers 5th title he promised he would be a Laker for life.

If he wants to be traded bad enough, he will accept the trade as I see it. If he doesn't want to be traded, then play with the players you have around you. It's not Kobe who has to worry about where this team is 5 years from now. It's Kup and Buss. Honestly, I don't think that Kobe has much to complain about. I posted this earlier but the truth of the matter is that Odom doesn't really fit the set offense. He fits the triangle well but not the set offense, which is what the Lakers will be playing a lot, as long as Brown is the head coach. Kobe may not like it. A lot of fans may not understand it but the reality is that the Lakers would have been on the hook for 8 Million per season with a luxury tax payment of another 8 Million or 16 Million per season, for the next 2 seasons with a player that would not have fit in the offense. How happy would Odom have been? It would have been a lose - lose proposition for both the team and Odom had the Lakers kept him.
