Don't ever let the facts spoil a good story" - Mark Twain
Why Mr. Twain originally offered that quote is up for debate, but the 2011 application of it seems to apply to the 2011 Dallas Cowboys story. Here are learned, wise NFL pundits talking each week about the Dallas Cowboys. And they go on and on discussing the inability of the Cowboys to take a season by the scruff of the neck before each Cowboys' game. They look carefully at all of the information in front of them, cross reference it with all of their personal experience in the game which is often plentiful and extensive, and then flush it right down the toilet.
Because, when one is predisposed to an opinion, there is often no amount of evidence that will turn their opinion short of being smacked in the face. Then, and only then, will they concede that maybe they were barking up the wrong tree.
And they arrive at a familiar destination.
Tony Romo.

Well, that was quite a Valentine.
There probably was a thread on this already, but watching Faulk and Sanders in that NFL network interview with Tony after the game was nauseating. Romo handled it *great*. I would not have in his shoes.

But I went back and re-watched and I found it plain disrespectful.
Deion: It's not that we dislike you...
Marshall: I call it funny ball...

I mean, it's like they finally got a chance to tell him all their grievances and took that time after a pretty solid game to do so. Ridiculous.

    How soon people forget. And, those same people forget how the great Troy Aikman even struggled at the end of his wonderful career when the pieces around him turned from platinum to bronze. This is why football is the best team sport going.

Faulk could not have been more condescending. He was completely unprofessional during the interview.
Wow Sturm! Way to go. I think that was therapuetic for him. Delivered with passion! And of course right on the money. :laugh2:

I have to admit that I was down on Romo after the losses to the Jets and Lions but I remembered 2009 when a similar thing happened...That year he was fabulous down the stretch even though it ended against the Vikings...I would argue that he is playing as good as Brees, Rodgers, Manning and Brady...his improvisational skills are unmatched and no player is better at turning a broken play into something special...but he'll never get the monkey off his back until he does what Steve Young ultimately did...the defense, chiefly the secondary, will determine the teams fate this season...as long as Fiammetta and the running game thrives, I think Romo can make the most of the offensive line...New York did'nt fluster him too much and he should have hung 40+ on them in the end...if Ryan could somehow get those guys coached up in the backfield they have an offense that can play shootout ball (with the caveat of a good running game)...
...I do think that Deion and Marshall lacked a bit of tact in the interview, but I don't think that Deion Sanders will serve as any motivation for him...he just needs to keep doing what he's doing and let the pieces around him do their jobs as well...

Deion makes me sick with how cool he thinks he is. It's like a thick layer of castroil.
I cannot believe either of those hacks are employed. They're not good enough for a local broadcast out of Ottumwa, Iowa.
Immature, half-witted twits.

This article says perfectly what I've been thinking for a while. Romo is a very good QB and very seldom is he responsible for a loss... but all losses always gets blamed on him by the media and those who just can't stand him for some reason.

So, I'm confused. Do you like them or not?:D
Incidentally, I feel the same way.

Deion is too much of a moron to articulate even what he means. I don't think he means to be as disrespectful as he comes across. He thinks he has a point, even if it's a poor point, but can't even get it out with any coherence. Like the "who's in your butt" question. He's almost as bad as Emmitt Smith, he just doesn't stutter as much.
Faulk all but openly loathes the Cowboys. Everyone should take what he says with a grain of salt. If the Cowboys were 18-0 and leading in the SB at halftime, he would still play up shortcomings.
But as a whole, I thought Jamie Dukes - of all people - had a great comment on Romo. He acknowledged how well Romo had played this year, but then said something like, "But when you wear the star, it's all about the rings." Rather than offend Cowboy fans the way it does, it should comfort them that their franchise and their players are held to a different standard.

There it is. I'm glad most of the fans in that thread agreed about the interview.
I'd forgotten to mention, though, that the Dallas fans chanting in the background were pretty cool.

I especially liked Romo's veiled remark to Deion about playing on some bad Falcons teams early in his career. The fact is, Deion never elevated any team to greatness. He just jumped on the bandwagon of a very good SF team and later the Cowboys. His resume before and after that speaks for itself.
And yet, Deion has the unmitigated gall to heap everything on Romo's shoulders. Pathetic.

I agree. I thought that whole interview was a setup from the start of it. Where did Rich go and Michael go?
They left for a specific reason....Deion and Marshall wanted that shot at him.
They got it and looked like complete ******s in the process.
It was DISGUSTING watching the NFL network after that game.
I turned it off. Its a literal JOKE anymore.
