I wonder if football is also symbolism. The American pastime being destroyed by a terrorist. There has to be a reason for the scene since football scenes in movies are always so distractingly bad. This being no exception with its 9 player field

I can not wait for this movie. Batman was always my favorite comic book character.

I must assume that there is still a TON of CGI work to be done on that scene. As it stands right now it's pretty bad. They still have 6+ months to improve upon it.

Anne Hathaway is already the horrible miscast eyesore in this movie. Everything else gives me arousal though.

What language are you speaking?! :laugh2:

I'm not thrilled about the casting either, but I trust Christopher Nolan... oh wait... he cast Katie Holmes in the original. Nevermind!

I got so excited after seeing the opening 7 minute sequence I smashed my forehead on the keyboard. Surprised it came out as legible as it did.

check your pm's.

Bane is a little wittier/more dramatic than I would've guessed. Not the stoic BA I assumed he'd be. Still real cool though. Won't be as popular or quotable as the joker though

Poor Cilian Murphy/bag head man

Probably bc only like 50% of people could understand anything he was saying.

This .....

It should be good ..... just wish they would have picked a more iconic villain than Bane.

Don't worry, I hear they are making a Mean Girls sequel, I know you've been hoping and praying. :D

In hindsight, maybe destroying Gotham wasn't such a bad idea after all?

Bane is pretty iconic, he's the one who "broke the bat"

I prefer a bit more death and destruction than Twilight offers.

Bane is pretty iconic, he's the one who "broke the bat"

He and Doomsday were both created in the early 90's to "jolt" DC comics and try and give their two most popular characters a 90's harder edge.

They were both gimmick characters pulled out of hat with no background or character development.

All their history and development was retconed later by different writers.

Now saying all that, I still think it will be a great movie.

....Bane is a physical and mental challenge for Batman.

All retconned later.

When Bane first appeared he was just big strong guy hopped up on "venom" who Batman underestimated physically.

His mercenary and educational background was written years later to give the character needed depth.

The Knightfall saga has its flaws, but he's both a physical and mental threat to Batman in it.
