Ogletree possibly injured, leaves practice with trainer

The Cowboys special teams took a potential hit Tuesday when receiver Kevin Ogletree left practice with trainer Jim Maurer and was seen walking the halls at the teams' Valley Ranch headquarters toward the office where they conduct magnetic resonance imaging exams. There will be no confirmation on an injury or its extent until the Cowboys end practice in another hour. Ogletree has been the team's primary kick off returner the past couple of weeks. Rookie Dwayne Harris could be an option there if Ogletree can't go against the Eagles.

Harris SHOULD'VE been returning kicks anyway. He was pretty good at the beginning of the year.

Not a good returner but he has been making tough catches over the middle for awhile now without dropping any. He has been absorbing hits to make the play. I really think he could break out next year with his speed, routes and now a bit of toughness. I think he has his head on straight now.

We lose nothing by losing Ogletree. Better to have his lack of effort and attitude off the field.

Let Sean Lissemore return kicks. He actually runs.

I asked this in another thread but why can't Jesse Holley return kicks?

the ship has sailed. We have to move on from people that are unproductive. He should not have been on the team this year. When you see Laurent Robinson come in and produce without the years of expereince Ogletree has in this offense...that is proof that Ogletree just does not get it.

It sucks to see a player get hurt, but this really doesn't hurt us at all.

But he can act like an idiot with the best of them. Sorry, that display after the San Fran catch was embarrassing.

Sounds like all the others we have sent back there except for Felix

This right here. I agree He has been very solid. He was an undrafted FA that didn't even play with a decent QB in college. People are all up in arms that LR has come in and done well, but people fail to realize that he was a draft pick and had real NFL experience for 5 years. I am with you I believe KO will be a very solid player next year, but he has been pretty good as a WR though he has made some tough catches.

Regardless of whether he has a future with us or not they should send him to IR and bring up another RB, Miller or someone off the street. If Felix aggravates his hamstring Saturday and can't run that leaves us with only Morris.

I don't get it either.

Outside of the Washington game Ogletree has pretty much money every time his name's been called.

I guess some folks just have selective sight and memory.

He's come up with some key catches. Losing him certainly won't help us. I do agree he is not very good with the KR.

The ball has to be right on the money for him. He will not make the effort to catch it unless it hits him in the numbers. He will not reach or stretch or fight for the ball, and he has alligator arms if someone is going to hit him.

The catches he's made in the middle are more a testament to Romo's accuracy rather than Ogletree's effort. They all hit him in the chest and all he had to do was cradle the ball and fall down.

That is just utterly dumb and untrue.

How did you like Ogletree's one-hand stab reaching behind him in the Redskins game on the final game-winning drive?

The only play you have to base any of that nonsense was the play earlier in the Redskins game when he didn't reach over the CB to make a play on the ball.

You don't remember? Getting down on his knees repeatedly, spreading his arms out, yelling at the sky? That display? Whatever happened to acting like you've done it before? Looked like a total *** out there.

Ohhh yeah lol I had completely forgotten about that. It was pretty dumb but I won't crucify the guy over it because I understand he's excitement during the whole thing. It's not like he really ever had done it before so I understand the excitement. But then again I really like him so I could be biased :o:

Nothing but a front-running opinion here.

The guy fumbled and dropped one tough catch against Washington where the CB was running right at him and his body hit the ball and the whole board goes overboard on the kid. Dez dropped 3 similar ones against Zona and crickets from the board because he is the "chosen one" for the front runners.

You totally overlook the one-handed grab on the game winning drive against Washington when we were backed up deep. You also ignore two recent tough catches over the middle where he he was hit hard immediately. You also claim he can't reach and catch the ball but ignore the sideline catch he made as a rookie against the Saints.

Too many people on this board can't watch the game objectively and come up with their own conclusions. He has caught everything that has come his way since the Washington game including several tough ones over the middle.

We may need this kid next year as the #3 if we can't sign Laurent to an extension. He has far more athletic ability than Holley and Harris and is a much more polished product than anyone beyond our top 3. He is not going to be a top WR in this league but he can play in this league.
