I don't know about that. I think the move to brooms is a much more progressive step away from the modern weaponry most are using to protect their ideologies.

Maybe next year they'll just throw dust at each other and no one really gets hurt.

Taking ignorance to a whole new level was definitely not the right response. I should have just said "compounding ignorance." ;) :D
