IRVING, Texas -- With starting left guard Montrae Holland (http://cowboyszone.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4688864/derrick-dockery-getting-first-team-snaps#comments) out for the season with a torn biceps muscle in his left arm, the Cowboys have moved Derrick Dockery (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/4539/derrick-dockery) into his spot.

Dockery was getting first-team reps during Wednesday's practice.

The Cowboys like Dockery's experience, nine-year pro, and size, 6-6, 325 pounds, in their matchup against the New York Giants (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/nyg/new-york-giants) front.

he has size but like holland no foot speed. I think we will see a few stunts vs the giants. Didn't he play terrible vs the 49ers (his only start). I think he had like 3 or more false starts:bang2: . We are on the road we are going to need guys to focus and cut out all these pre-snap penalties.

His feet and movement are much better then Holland, he's more mobile. I don't recall him having a bad game against the 49'ers..

I thought he struggled in that game. But it was against arguably the nastiest front 7 in the league. And it was his first real action in some time, so hopefully things are better Sunday night...

At least he will have some practice time before kickoff.

He was playing on a sprained MCL and fractured tibia for a significant part of the game.

Then why in the blue hell wasn't HE starting? 🎱

I think this is a mistake by Houck/Garrett. Dockery looked pretty washed up to me against SF. Killa has played well at OG when given a chance.

If you had commented upon Holland before returning, it probably would have read similarly. As was noted above, Derrick Dockery was injured during that game, and playing against the top defensive unit in the NFL at present. That Dallas was able to garner a win with him in there, should not be lost in a match-up against the Giants....oh yea, :giants:

As to Kowalski, I'd prefer him starting at center, rather than giving him preference at left guard.
