Wow, what a Christmas this poor girl has had...

A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year's Eve, less than a week after the baby's father died of cancer.
Sarah McKinley says that a week earlier a man named Justin Martin dropped by on the day of her husband's funeral, claiming that he was a neighbor who wanted to say hello. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City area woman did not let him into her home that day.
On New Year's Eve Martin returned with another man, Dustin Stewart, and this time was armed with a 12-inch hunting knife. The two soon began trying to break into McKinley's home.

She did what she had to to. I hope I'm never put in that situation but I am armed and will do it if need be.

I agree and frankly considering what would have happened to her, I'm glad for once the bad guy got blasted. But it is unfortunate she had to go through that. She has some grit.

I agree. I think any time you are faced with taking a life that is not something most would want to face. However as we know there are people out there who would hurt you and your family and not even blink an eye about it. I have no remorse for them and would do as this woman was forced to do.

Too bad she did not shoot the other guy as well ......

These guys knew who she was and knew what she had gone through and decided she and her infant would be easy victims to rob, rape, and murder.

She's 18, how old was the husband?

That photo has to be 20 years old at least, probably 30 and he's like 30 in that photo.

Weird.

Weird.Yeah, the husband looked a lot older. Either way, I cannot judge, may he rest in peace and may the intruder that got killed burn in hell.

But after the intruder broke open the door I would have yelled "Come and meet my little friend!"

Exactly. Scumbags. They both deserve to die.

A teen mom in Oklahoma home alone with a 3-month-old shot an intruder dead after a 911 dispatcher told her to “do what you have to do.”

Sarah McKinley, 18, who had recently buried her husband who died of cancer on Christmas Day, called 911 when Justin Martin, a man who had first visited her on the day of her husband’s funeral, tried to break in to her home, KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City reported.

Martin returned on New Year’s Eve with a second man, Dustin Stewart, ABC’s Good Morning America reported (http://abcnews.go.com/US/okla-woman-shoots-kills-intruder911-operators-shoot/story?id=15285605):

I'm not judging but I am curious. What's the age of consent in Oklahoma?

She's 18 with a 3 month old child.........simple math puts her underage when she got knocked up.

Someone breaks in to my home they are dead. I would think no more of killing them than I would of stepping on a roach.

and why do you care? what does it matter? Unless you are basically saying she was a slut or hooker and deserved to get raped and killed?

Why do I care that an underage child was impregnated by what appears to be a much older man?

I dunno burm, why would anyone care about that?

Wow! That is a giant leap right there. I suppose it doesn't matter, but I don't know how you reached the conclusions you did. Amazing.

Different states have different laws

Okla: If you are under 18, your parents must appear at the courthouse with you to sign a consent form. Minors must wait three days before the marriage license is valid.

Hey That's funny, but I thought the age for that was generally 16, so I thought a 17 YO wasn't considered underaged.
You're talking like she's 12.

I'm not saying the guys a child molester.

I was just saying the situation just seems weird. I don't have kids but if I had a daughter, no way in hell is she even seeing a guy that old.

And I'd bet their relationship spanned a little bit. Her parents would have to be insane to let her marry a guy on a whim.

Just a weird situation.

9 (months pregnancy) + 3 (months old) = 12 (months or 1 year). Should would have to conceive on her 18th birthday at the earliest and she would need to be turning 19 tomorrow. (or there abouts) ;)

For her to still be 18 (and 18 at conception) and have a 3 month old baby that is.

I don't either but the picture shown in the story has to be old. Unless that guy was a time traveler or never changed a thing about himself in the last 20+ years, he's got some age on her.

The age of consent in OK is 16 and most states (surprisingly). It is 17 in Texas and New York and many other states. 18 in a few (Cali and Florida).

Get this, in much of Mexico it is at puberty and the rest is 14.

I have taught my daughters how to shoot the shot guns and rifles. My wife knows how to shoot them as well as all the handguns. They have all been taught to shoot ANYONE who comes through the door uninvited and unannounced. Don't call 911. Just aim and shoot.

Then call me then 911. My 15 YO is equivalent to a marksman.

As for this woman, I feel so bad she has gone through all of this. And I feel bad for this baby who won't know his daddy.

But I am glad that she had access to the gun and could defend herself. Imagine if guns were outlawed what the outcome of this situation would have been.

Even after the SOB is put down, don't stay on the phone w/ 911. Call 911 give them your SITREP and put the phone down. You never know if there are more.

Yeah, I laughed at that picture. 1979 called, they want their shirt back.

Was I the only one that thought it was weird they were kinda re-enacting the shooting? Aiming the gun..

Supposedly he was 58

Supposedly she worked at the pharmacy he got his Cancer drugs from and thats how they "met"

Supposedly she knew the guy she killed ......but said she did not recognize him till a few days later.

I have a feeling if this case was investigated by anything other than local authorities, a lot of shady stuff would come out.

Oh well.
