We re-sign Spencer after letting him test the market, sign Michael Griffin in FA, cut Newman...

1. OG David DeCastro

2. CB Stephon Gilmore

3. DE Kendall Reyes or OC Ben Jones

Thoughts?

DeCastro is the obvious #1. Gillmore in round 2 is a huge reach. Have to go Minnifield there.

I wouldn't re-sign Spencer. I was purely going hypothetical...

we drafted guards last year in Nagy and Arkin. We need a pass rusher or a CB.

Spencer isn't mediocre he's solid. People here don't like him because he's not D-Ware I got news for you people there's only one D-Ware. If we had a legit pass rusher Spencer would look alot better.

This.

Why must we always ignore our greatest need in the 1st Rd. I am happy with Tyrone from last years draft but honestly we need to take the best CB or sack machine to help Ware who is available with our first pick.

DeCastro & Minnifield would make this a great start to the draft.

We need a Woodley/Harrison or Miller/Dumervil combo. Spencer will never be either of those 4....with or without Ware.

He has shown nothing to get an extension. Sign Grubbs or Nicks in FA and draft Ingram. He will be the best 3-4 OLB that comes from this draft.

Tyrone, eh? :laugh2:

Interior line IS our greatest need. It's not like Jenkins isn't on the team, we still have a #1 corner even with Newman cut.

Spencer is by far the most difficult choice the Boys have as far as free agency goes. If they can sign him to a reasonable contract I say do it, but still draft a McClellin or maybe a Ronnell Lewis in the third round.
Otherwise, I see no choice but to use a very high pick on an OLB.

we drafted guards last year in Nagy and Arkin. We need a pass rusher or a CB.

Nagy: 7th round pick, plays multiple positions but isn't dominant at one position

Arkin: 4th round pick, wasn't even active

DeCastro: Best interior lineman prospect in a decade

Hmm...take the highest rated player available!

I will say this, I think Dallas needs a solid corner who's 6' or taller. We just don't matchup well with big WR's like Hakeem Nicks. Look at the huge 3rd and 7 play against the Giants with Scandrick. We need a playmaking, tall CB and Dre Kirkpatrick would be a very, solid pick. I would take Kirkpatrick, DeCastro or Upshaw @ #14.

This is sort of my feeling on it as well.

I'm all for taking DeCastro, BUT I don't know if JJ will go OL two years in a row in Round 1 - esp at pick 14.

I think he'll go Defense, and I'd guess most likely CB at this stage (since Newman is probably gone). If Spencer is also gone, then I'd say JJ goes OLB first.

Personally, I hope we keep Spencer, and I'm good with either DeCastro or a CB in Round 1. Either players should be Year 1 starters for us.
