COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M tackling legend Dat Nguyen said Thursday that there is “no chance” he’ll be a part of A&M’s new staff, and already has cleaned out his locker in the Bright building.

Nguyen is the school’s all-time tackle leader and the 1998 Lombardi Award winner who spent the better part of last decade with the Dallas Cowboys, both as a player and assistant. Nguyen has spent the past two seasons as A&M’s inside linebackers coach under Mike Sherman, who was fired on Dec. 1.

I can't blame him, assuming it was his decision. Loftin is a stooge and really hurt the athletics department with his antics.

Come on back to Dallas, Dat. Bruce Carter can use some tutelage.

I'd love to have Dat back in the mix here in some capacity.

I seriously think that you can track back our drop off in tackling to when Dat left. I would not be against it.

He knew how to tackle and did it very well. which frankly in todays NFL is a dying practice.
