As a Buccaneers employee (and a diehard Cowboys fan obviously), I'd like to hear from the A&M fans who are members here on their thoughts of Mike Sherman.

Everything I have read says that he is an upstanding individual. In fact, I just read the entire letter he sent to the Texas high school football coaches saying how grateful he was and the things he has learned and wanted to pass on. If you haven't read it, I encourage you to do so.

I'm of the thinking that Sherman's GB tenure isn't a reasonable data set to judge his coaching style and knowledge. Brett Favre was in full diva mode. Whether or not Sherman catered to that is up for debate unless you were in the locker room with them.

From what I've researched, he took A&M from a total joke of a football program to respectability and with strong foundation to build upon for the future (a la Parcells did with the Cowboys).

As I do work with the coaches/players on a regular basis, I would like to have all opinions, including those from fans themselves, on what we could expect.

Thanks guys.

Great guy and a good coach, he knows how to build a program but I didn't like his play calling or game planning. He didn't make good adjustments at halftime, over his three years at TAMU he outscored opponents 745-511 in the first half but only 577-547 in the second half while being outscored 273-306 in the 3rd quarter. He might make a better GM than a HC in my opinion.

Aikmaniac, How does that work when the bucs play the cowboys. Do you have to cheer in silence and act disappointed when the Bucs lose?

Are you like the Pepsi employees that would get fired if you drink coke products. Or like Winn Dixie employees that get fired if they shop at Publix.

You would think your loyalties would be in question with your employer supporting your family.

As far as Mike Sherman, as a Packer fan. I loved him as a coach but he was way over his head as a GM. He built one of the best offensive lines in Green Bay history. I thought he embraced the history of the Packers and was genuinely hurt when he was let go. At the time I thought it was a bad move but in hindsight it was the right thing to do. Sherman let FAvre get away with anything and never held him accountable. When Thompson took over, Favre could not get over the fact he did not have the same control. You could do far worse for a coach than Sherman. Just make sure he keeps Tom Rosley off the staff.

Mike Sherman is a great coach that should never been fired.
The problem is there Aggies that hate UT more than the love their own school.
Texas A&M is going to get their head handed to them in the SEC while Sherman will be building a winner in Tampa.

A 25-25 record, 0 bowl wins, and many 2nd half meltdowns this season...yeah great job

Eh, they don't worry about me too much. I'm on the bottom of the totem pole my friend.
