Vontaze Burfict
This week's chat with the National Football Post's Wes Bunting runs through readers questions. Today, he discusses David DeCastro, the player he gives to Dallas in his latest mock draft, a new center prospect and the pros and cons of linebacker Vontaze Burfict, a player who will likely split draft rooms this spring.

Cowboys Nation: Let's start today with your new mock. You have David DeCastro going to Dallas at pick 14. That would fill a huge need and would make a lot of fans happy. He just finished his bowl game. Did you see anything in his Fiesta Bowl performance to chance your mind about his rating and his game?

Wes Bunting: I didnt' see anything that would make my grade go down. I thought he was powerful on contact. He gets raves for his mobility and his ability to pull, which is great, but he's also a pretty physical playing in line.

The only question I have is why they played him at right guard at Stanford? Without a doubt he looks like a left guard at the NFL.

CN: Explain the difference between the left and right guard? What's the advantage of playing him on the left side?

WB: Left side is typically the weak side. You have the strong side with the right tackle and the tight end, and that's usually where you run the football. So the left guy is the one who would pull when you run counters to the strong side, so you usually want the most athletic guard at the left side. That's where Alan Faneca played. That's where Steve Hutchinson played. You want to have that athletic guy making the pulls, as opposed to your right guard, who is often the thicker, more girthy power player who gets a push and can't get out in space as well.

Hope this happens.
